At the visit and working session, Vice Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Loc Ha happily said that, on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of Viet Nam - Singapore diplomatic relations (August 01, 1973 - August 01, 2023), the delegation of Binh Duong province visited the ITE, Singapore to access the advanced and modern training system of Singapore, thereby applying it to the practice of vocational education in Binh Duong, meeting the requirements of high-quality human resources of the province.

The Vice Chairman of the PPC added that more than 25 years ago, in 1997, the Viet Nam - Singapore Technical Training Center (now the Viet Nam - Singapore Vocational College) was established. The training cooperation project between the Governments of Viet Nam and Singapore to provide skilled human resources for the Viet Nam - Singapore Industrial Park. This is considered a bright spot in technical training in Viet Nam, with training models and programs, teaching and learning environment, modern machines, and systematic training methods. Enterprises of Viet Nam - Singapore Industrial Park and other industrial parks in Binh Duong province are satisfied and highly appreciate the training quality. This training model is recognized and evaluated as a successful "Triple helix" model, contributing to attracting foreign investors to Binh Duong.
Over the past 25 years, the total number of students and graduates of all occupations and training levels is more than 15,000 students, over 90% of students find jobs right after graduation and most of them have jobs that are suitable for their vocations learned. The number of students at the school is constantly increasing every year, up to now, it has increased to nearly 3,000 students, contributing to providing skilled human resources for the province's socio-economic development.

On behalf of the leaders of Binh Duong province, the Vice Chairman of the PPC would like to thank the Government of Singapore, the ITE, Singapore, and Singaporean experts for sponsoring resources for the development of the Viet Nam - Singapore Vocational College as it is today. He wished and believed that ITE will cooperate and share experiences in training activities for the further development of Viet Nam - Singapore Vocational College, contributing to building Binh Duong for sustainable development towards a smart, civilized, and modern city.
Through this visit and working, Vice Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Loc Ha hoped that, in the coming time, ITE and Viet Nam - Singapore Vocational College would strengthen cooperation in the field of training, contributing to improving Binh Duong province's quality of human resources to meet development needs.

Informing the delegation at the meeting and working session, Mr. Bruce Poh - Director of ITE said that ITE is a public vocational education institution in Singapore that provides pre-employment training for high school graduates and continuing education/training for working employees. Established by Singapore's Ministry of Education, ITE provides vocational training for technicians and skilled workers in occupations such as engineering, accounting, business administration, nursing, healthcare, architecture, and law.
The ITE's main role is to ensure that graduates have the knowledge and skills relevant to different occupations. ITE is also the National body for skills standards setting and skills certification in Singapore. Every year, ITE trains about 28,000 students with over 90 full-time Nitec (equivalent to intermediate level in Viet Nam) and Higher Nitec (equivalent to college level in Viet Nam) courses. Full-time program students at ITE are usually high school graduates with the required GCE N-level or O-level certificate.
In addition, ITE also offers many courses and internships for employees working in the fields of applied science and health, business - service, design and communication, electronics-information and communication technology, engineering and hospitality, etc.
Currently, ITE consists of 3 schools: ITE College Central, ITE College East, and ITE College West, offering certificates of Nitec, Higher NITEC, Master NITEC, and diploma programs.
Bruce Poh hoped that, in the coming time, ITE and Viet Nam - Singapore Vocational College will strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences in education and training, contributing to further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
