Mitani Sangyo Group, Japan explores investment opportunities in Binh Duong

​PORTAL - On the afternoon of July 06, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies hosted a reception for Mr. Mitani Mitsuru - Special Advisor of Mitani Sangyo Group and Chairman of Hokuriku Viet Nam Business Promotion Association to visit and work in Binh Duong province.

​Also in attendance were Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee (PPC), and leaders of departments, committees, and branches.

Welcoming Mitani Sangyo Group to visit and work in Binh Duong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi thanked Mr. Mitani and Mitani Sangyo Group for welcoming the Binh Duong provincial delegation thoughtfully and supporting the organization of the Investment Promotion Seminar during the business trip to Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan last June.

Informing the delegation about the province's geographical location, socio-economic situation, and investment attraction over the past time, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee said that Binh Duong has a favorable geographical position adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, near the airport and international seaport. Promoting its geographical advantage as a trade gateway between provinces in the Southern key economic region, Binh Duong province has actively invested in developing modern and synchronous technical infrastructure.

From now to 2027, the province will focus on completing 3 highways (Ring Road No. 3, Ring Road No. 4, and Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway), there will be nearly 200 kilometers of highways passing through Binh Duong, connecting with airports, seaports, etc. to facilitate the transportation and circulation of goods. At the same time, the province will form an industrial belt with a scale of over 20,000 hectares along highways, thereby creating a new driving force and development space for the locality.

Binh Duong currently has 4,120 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from 65 countries and territories with a total registered capital of more than 40 billion USD, of which Japan ranks second with 344 projects, total registered investment capital is nearly 6 billion USD, accounting for 15% of total FDI capital in the province.

The year 2023 marks the 50th founding anniversary of Viet Nam - Japan diplomatic relations (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023). On the basis of the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries Viet Nam - Japan, over the past time, the cooperation relationship between Binh Duong and Japanese partners has developed very well and deepened in all fields.

The Secretary wished that Mitani Sangyo Group would continue to expand its investment in Binh Duong. The Secretary firmly believed that the Group's strengths in technology, finance, international market network, and business administration skills when combined with the advantages of Binh Duong will bring great and practical benefits to both sides. Binh Duong is committed to always accompanying enterprises, ready to create all the most favorable conditions for the production and business activities of investors, including Japanese investors.

Sharing at the meeting, Mr. Mitani Mitsuru said that Mitani Sangyo Group was established in 1928, dealing in chemicals, plastics, electronics, information systems, air conditioning equipment, home appliances, and energy. The Group started its operations in Vietnam in 1994. ​​Production and business activities are always directed towards the criterion "Japanese quality comes from Vietnam".

He expected Binh Duong province to cooperate with the Japanese side in training high-quality human resources and skilled workers; promote the Vietnamese workforce trained and worked in Japan to return home.

It is expected that in November this year, a number of Hokuriku enterprises will have a working trip, survey, and learn about investment opportunities in Viet Nam, including Binh Duong province. Mr. Mitani Mitsuru hoped that through the working trip, there would be more opportunities for investment cooperation between the two sides.
