According to the report, the province's socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of 2023 has achieved some positive results. Among the 35 major socio-economic - environmental - urban indicators; up to now, 19/35 targets have reached over 50% of the plan and exceeded the annual plan; 02/35 targets decreased sharply over the same period (export turnover and import turnover).
Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 3.76% over the same period in 2022. The Index of industrial production was estimated to increase by 2.65% over the same period in 2022. Total retail sales of goods and services were estimated at 151,240 billion VND, up 13% over the same period.
Overview of the meeting
The export and import situation faced many difficulties; the key export items, the main export markets continued to reduce consumer demand. Specifically, export turnover was estimated at 15 billion 108 million USD, down 17.4% over the same period in 2022; import turnover was estimated at 10 billion 785 million USD, down 14.7% over the same period in 2022.
By June 15, 2023, domestic investment attracted 35,302 billion VND of registered business capital (down 8.1% over the same period). Accumulated up to now, the province has 62,331 domestic enterprises with a total registered capital of 666,000 billion VND. Foreign investment attracted 943 million USD (equivalent to 37% over the same period). Up to now, the province has 4,113 foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital of 40 billion USD.
Budget revenue was estimated at 31,550 billion VND, reaching 42% of the estimate approved by the Provincial People's Council and reaching 48% of the estimate assigned by the Prime Minister.

In the last 6 months of the year, the PPC focuses on organizing contact and working directly with each association, enterprise and each project to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles. Researching solutions to open up and stimulate consumer demand to contribute to the consumption of goods produced by enterprises in the province that are facing difficulties in export markets. Focusing on regulating and ensuring stable power sources for production and daily life. Accelerating the expansion of industrial parks and investing in new industrial clusters as planned; perfecting the policy of relocating enterprises from the southern localities to industrial parks and clusters in the northern localities. Well performing social security work, paying attention to, caring for and supporting the material and spiritual life of the people. Closely monitoring the situation of workers being unemployed and reduced working hours to have a plan to connect labor supply and demand, supporting people to find jobs, etc.
At the meeting, the delegates focused on discussing the implementation results of socio-economic development targets in the first 6 months of the year and the direction for the last 6 months of 2023; accelerating the progress of key traffic works; budget revenue and expenditure; Provincial planning progress, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Vo Van Minh assessed that the situation in the first 6 months of 2023 took place in difficult conditions, with more challenges than advantages and opportunities; the PPC has forecast and assessed the situation from the last months of 2022, so it has focused on directing and working with departments, branches and localities to thoroughly grasp the task of removing difficulties and problems related to land, investment and business procedures, reforming administrative procedures, supporting production and business, promoting export goods, etc.
For the key tasks in the last 6 months of 2023, the PPC Chairman suggested that all levels, branches and localities make greater efforts and determination in implementing plans for the implementation of the Government's resolutions and direction of the Prime Minister, central ministries and branches; develop a scenario of economic growth in the third quarter and the whole year of 2023 to have solutions to strive to best fulfill the set tasks and plans. Focusing on solving difficulties, supporting production and business, taking advantage of time to accelerate the process of socio-economic recovery and development. Completing submission, appraisal and approval of the provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Speeding up the implementation and completion of key works and projects, focusing on disbursing public investment capital, reforming administrative procedures, ensuring political security, social order and safety, traffic safety, etc.
