At the meeting, the two sides discussed the implementation of some projects that Binh Duong is implementing with the support of JICA such as: Public transport infrastructure improvement project in Binh Duong province; Urban railway project from Suoi Tien station to Binh Duong New City; Bau Bang - Thi Vai - Cai Mep industrial railway.
Overview of the meeting
The representative of JICA's leadership affirmed that it will continue to study and consider options to support Binh Duong during the implementation of projects. For projects involving many provinces and cities such as railway projects, JICA would like the sides to discuss and exchange to facilitate the implementation.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi emphasized that Japan is currently one of the leading economic partners and the largest ODA donor for Viet Nam. Provincial leaders highly appreciate and gratefully thank JICA for their paying attention and support in ODA loans for projects in Binh Duong. The projects have left a strong mark of Japan on the Viet Namese people in general and Binh Duong province in particular, making positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee respectfully asked JICA to continue to pay attention and support in speeding up projects on construction of transport infrastructure connecting airports, seaports, regional links, promoting socio-economic development of the province, in which, research and support technical package for feasibility study to extend urban railway line No. 1 from Suoi Tien station to Binh Duong New City. Binh Duong province wished to exchange management and operation experience from the Japanese side and has special trust with Japan and JICA in the process of cooperation and development of projects in Binh Duong province. At the same time, he affirmed that he would continue to consolidate and develop friendly cooperative relations with localities and partners of Japan; contributing to bringing the relationship between Viet Nam and Japan to a new level.
