​PORTAL - On the afternoon of June 07, at the Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee (PPC) held a press conference to inform about the socio-economic, defense - security situation in May 2023.

​Mr. Vo Anh Tuan - Chief of PPC Office and Mr. Le Tuan Anh - Director of Department of Information and Communications chaired the conference. Attending were leader representatives of departments and branches; reporters of the press agencies at the central level, inside and outside the province.

Overview of the press conference

As reported by the PPC, in May 2023, the PPC continued to direct and support enterprises to recover, develop production and business, invest in construction, export and import; solve problems of real estate projects, social housing, production and business. At the same time, implementing solutions to speed up the implementation and disbursement of public investment capital; improving the quality and shortening the appraisal time of investment projects; compensation and site clearance; administrative procedure reform, digital transformation; preparing the contents to submit to the Provincial People's Council thematic meeting. Thereby, the socio-economic situation in the month changed positively in many fields.

At the press conference, representatives from newspapers and radio stations asked many questions related to pandemic control and service quality of the Health branch; use of public land; illegally building houses on agricultural land; labor situation; social insurance profiteering; etc. The questions contents were answered clearly and specifically by leader representatives the departments and branches.

Responding to content related to the Health sector, Mr. Huynh Minh Chin - Deputy Director of the Department of Health said that up to now, the situation of Covid-19 pandemic in the province continues to be well controlled, the rate of Covid-19 cases has decreased. In terms of medical equipment and supplies, medical examination and treatment facilities are provided with sufficient basic facilities to serve medical examination and treatment. In order to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment and serve the people in the coming time, commensurate with the development of the province, the Department has developed a project to develop the Health branch at 3 levels and will coordinate with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Hanoi Medical University to provide on-the-spot training for more than 400 nurses and doctors.

In order to reduce the "overcrowding" situation, exceeding the prescribed number of students in a class, Ms. Truong Hai Thanh - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training said that in 2023, 15 school buildings will be built, upgraded and put into use. Thereby, it is expected that in the school year 2023-2024, the province will have 732 schools for 4 levels of preschool, primary, secondary, and high school; ensuring to meet the increase of students.

Providing information about the labor situation, Mr. Pham Van Tuyen - Deputy Director of Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that the world economic and political situation has greatly affected the production and business activities of many enterprises, the number of orders decreased, especially in the garment, footwear and wood processing industries, leading to a decrease in labor demand, affecting the income and life of many workers. The province continues to deal with policies and regimes for workers; strengthen the connection of labor needs between enterprises and workers. In order to reduce the situation of labor disputes and strikes occurring due to the shutdown of enterprises, the province has increased legal propaganda to workers; promote local connection to timely grasp the situation.

Regarding the situation of illegal construction, purchase and sale of houses, real estate and houses on agricultural land, Mr. Bo Ly Thuat – Deputy Director of Department of Construction said that over the past time, authorities at all levels have always had strict management, supervision, review and inspection. It has recorded and handled administrative violations for cases of illegal violations and carried out coercion and dismantlement for many cases. At the same time, cooperating with the locality, strengthening warnings to people to avoid buying illegal projects. Currently, in the province, there are 28 projects that are slow to implement, due to problems in compensation procedures; the investment policy and planning adjustment have not yet been completed. The Department has cooperated with the investor and related departments, branches to coordinate implementation and remove difficulties.

Regarding the Ring Road No. 3, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport said that the project has completed and handed over the site clearance landmarks and is taking inventory and measuring in the field. It has issued 1,568 notices of land acquisition, reaching 100%; inventory of 1,461/1,503 cases, reaching 97%. The province has approved the land unit price to compensate for the implementation of the component project 6. Accordingly, Thu Dau Mot City has recovered land and compensated 52 households and 01 organization, disbursing 287.8 billion VND, reaching 37.4%. It is expected that in the next week, Thuan An City People's Committee will pay compensation to 32 households with a total expenditure of about 260 billion VND for the Binh Chuan intersection area.​

Concluding the conference, Mr. Vo Anh Tuan highly appreciated the questions of the press agencies, the content was very close to the actual situation of the locality, for the sustainable development goal of the province. The Chief of PPC Office emphasized that the province's point of view is to solve problems for the sake of socio-economic development and build Binh Duong to become richer and more beautiful and civilized. He wanted the press agencies to always accompany the province, believing in the leadership of the provincial political system. In the coming time, the province will promote the implementation of solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, promote production and business activities of enterprises; accelerate disbursement of public investment capital; and implement social security policies.
