On behalf of the provincial leaders, Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of Laval city, Quebec to visit Binh Duong on the occasion of the two countries Vietnam and Canada approaching the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC shared that over the past 50 years, the two countries have achieved great achievements in many fields. Up to now, Canada is the 14th largest investor among countries and territories investing in Vietnam, with 244 projects and total investment capital of 4.8 billion USD. Particularly in Binh Duong province, Canada is currently ranked 25th among 65 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong with 23 projects and total investment capital of 86 million USD.
Over the years, Binh Duong province has always been evaluated as one of the leading provinces and cities in the country in terms of socio-economic development and the speed of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). Besides promoting socio-economic development, Binh Duong also actively expands bilateral and multilateral cooperation in many fields.
Overview of the conference
With appropriate development orientation and efforts in building Binh Duong Smart City, Binh Duong Innovation Region and especially Science and Technology Industrial Park with the vision of becoming the innovation center of the Southern Key Economic Region, Binh Duong province has achieved some very encouraging results and is the first province of Vietnam to officially become a member of the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). For 5 consecutive years from 2019 to 2023, Binh Duong has been honored by ICF as one of 21 cities and regions with typical smart city development strategies of the world (SMART 21) and honored as TOP 7 ICF, becoming one of 07 communities with typical smart development strategies in the world for 02 consecutive years from 2021 to 2022.
Through this conference, Binh Duong hoped to receive active cooperation and support from leaders of Laval city, Quebec in calling for investment from Canadian partners and enterprises with high-tech, environmentally friendly, less labor intensive industries and fields, creating high added value such as financial services, logistics, supporting industries, high-tech agriculture and especially attracting investment in the Science and Technology Industrial Park on the basis of industry 4.0 from developed countries, the world's leading potential partners with modern management qualifications, including Canadian partners.

Mr. Bonnet Huor - Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Development at the the Mayor Office of Laval City, Quebec expressed his impression of Binh Duong's achievements as well as strategies and comprehensive development orientation in the coming time.
Laval is a city in Quebec province, located Southwest of the province and North of Montreal, he said. It is the largest suburb of Montreal, the 3rd largest city in the province, and the 13th largest city in Canada, with a population of more than 440,000.
He and Canadian enterprises highly appreciated the province's potential and investment environment; hoped to have the opportunity to learn more deeply to promote effective, long-term and sustainable cooperation in Binh Duong.
At the conference, the Becamex IDC Corp's representative detailed socio-economic information, industrial, commercial, service development projects and urban construction and development planning projects in Binh Duong province.
Enterprises exchange and discuss at the conference
Canadian enterprises also exchanged contents related to industries and policies to attract investment; and wished to invest in the Science and Technology Industrial Park through the fields of artificial intelligence, construction of multi-function buildings, furniture, lights, and high-tech agriculture, etc.
