In 2022, in Binh Duong province, 602 traffic accidents occurred, killing 316 people, injuring 463 people, and damaging 980 vehicles. Compared to the same period in 2021, 02 criteria have been reduced in terms of the number of cases and the number of injured people, and there have been no inland waterway traffic accidents. The TOS situation during peak periods of New Year, Lunar New Year, April 30th and May 1st, National Day on September 2nd, the opening of the new school year 2022-2023 associated with the Covid-19 prevention and control was guaranteed.
With the drastic direction of the PPC and the efforts of branches and localities in coordinating and implementing synchronous solutions to overcome traffic congestion in localities with high density of people and vehicles participating in traffic such as Thu Dau Mot City, Di An City, Thuan An City, the traffic congestion at key intersections on key roads of the province has been gradually overcome.
The direction and implementation of the plan for TOS assurance was also concerned and deployed by all branches and levels. From August 01, 2022, the Department of Transport cooperated to organize the official application of the plan of traffic distribution by hour, by route after the pilot implementation period; coordinated with localities and concerned agencies to regularly review and reorganize traffic to overcome inadequacies in traffic infrastructure, black spots of traffic accidents, and traffic jams.
At the same time, speeding up the implementation of key traffic works. During the year, it was inaugurated and put into use the road and bridge connecting Binh Duong - Tay Ninh province, completed the overpass 550 on DT.743 road; commenced 02 bidding packages in the project of upgrading and expanding DT.746 road from Tan Thanh junction to Hoi Nghia junction.
Simultaneously, the Provincial Police have established and put into operation the Mobile Team to handle traffic incidents; up to now, 100% of localities have been established. During the year, 15 traffic incidents were responded to, 29 traffic jams were resolved, 190 traffic accidents were protected, and 430 reports of violations, damaged traffic infrastructure, traffic accidents were provided.

In 2023, Binh Duong will focus on implementing TOS assurance with the theme of "respecting the law to build a safe traffic culture" with the goal of raising the sense of self-discipline to obey the law and building safe traffic culture; striving to reduce traffic accidents by 5% - 10% in all 3 criteria in terms of number of cases, number of deaths and number of injured people; continuing to effectively overcome traffic congestion on main traffic axes, important traffic hubs, urban areas and avoid prolonged traffic congestion.
Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Van Danh asked branches, levels and localities to evaluate the achieved results, causes, limitations and solutions to overcome, propose specific and practical recommendations; put TS tasks into the annual programs and work plans of agencies and units.
The Provincial TS Committee continues to monitor and grasp the situation to promptly propose and advise the PPC on appropriate handling solutions; organizes interdisciplinary delegations to inspect and urge the TOS assurance for localities with increased traffic accidents and complicated TOS situations.
Provincial police direct functional forces to maintain regular patrol and control for TOS assurance, social order and safety; strictly handle violations, especially those with potential violations of traffic accidents, errors that directly cause traffic accidents, especially violations of alcohol concentration and drug use. At the same time, directing to increase patrolling, inspection and handling on large-scale and key roads of the province, which tends to increase the volume of vehicles and traffic participants.
The Department of Transport focuses on advising and implementing solutions to improve the exploitation capacity of traffic infrastructure, long-term solutions to overcome traffic jams; prioritizing the application of science, technology and information technology in traffic organization, administration and supervision.
