The Seminar is one of the activities of the Environmental Technical Transfer and Human Resource Training Project in Vietnam, which was signed with a Memorandum of Understanding on November 30, 2022 by Binh Duong PPC and the Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI Kansai). The project has the participation of experts and officials of the Global Environment Centre; Construction Bureau, Environment Bureau of Osaka City; Setsuna University; Osaka University of Civil Engineering, etc. of Japan.

At the seminar, the provincial departments and branches introduced to delegates the regulations on environmental protection in waste treatment in Binh Duong, the solution and results of Binh Duong achieved in waste treatment; the program using economical energy, efficiency and renewable energy that the province is implementing.
Japanese experts have also shared topics such as: The current status and development orientation of energy saving and renewable energy in Japan; activities towards zero carbon emissions (renewable energy, energy saving in Sakai city in Osaka Prefecture, Japan); inspection activities for compliance with wastewater regulations and energy-saving measures in the wastewater system (Osaka city); technology and equipment to save and regenerate energy in the field of wastewater and waste treatment of enterprises of Team E Kansai, etc.
Binh Duong is a province with a fast industrialization speed, along with the process of urbanization, so the province is under environmental pressure. In December 2021, at COP26, Vietnam joined nearly 150 countries in committing to bring net emissions to "zero" by 2050. With the goal of training human resources in the environmental industry; energy saving, renewable energy, technology application in environmental management and protection, etc. in the province, the project will make practical contributions to the implementation of the above commitment. In addition, this is also an opportunity for the State management agency in charge of environment and enterprises in the province to access management experience and application in digital technology, automatic control to optimize effectiveness and efficiency in environmental protection. Especially, accessing to environmental devices and equipment for monitoring waste water quality, automatic emissions, and energy saving.

Speaking at the Seminar, Mr. Hosokawa Yoichi - Director of International Trade of Meti Kansai, Japan wished, through the project, it will help Binh Duong become a leading locality in Vietnam in environmental protection associated with industrial development. Japan will always accompany Binh Duong by sending environmental experts to join Binh Duong and expand more and more human resource training programs on the environment. Thereby, helping Binh Duong attract more foreign enterprises to invest in the province because of the friendly industrial production environment.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC hoped, through the project's activities such as: Exchanging and introducing environmental management knowledge of Japanese management agencies; surveying the status quo and visiting environmental protection in some enterprises in Binh Duong and Japan provinces, etc. Scientists and experts from Japan will have solutions to support Binh Duong to overcome and improve efficiency in environmental protection, striving to build Binh Duong province to develop sustainably towards smart, civilized and modern urban areas.
