At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Danh said that Binh Duong is one of the top provinces and cities in the country in terms of investment attraction. Accumulated to November 30, 2022, the province has attracted nearly 40 billion USD in foreign investment, with 4,082 projects from 65 countries and territories. In which, Japan ranked second, with 350 projects and investment capital of nearly 6 billion USD.
Overview of the meeting
Besides, the province always focuses on education, health and social security. Currently, the province has 8 major universities and 108 vocational training institutions. The grassroots and preventive heath system is invested, with 3 large hospitals, to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of people in the province, neighboring provinces and cities and investors. The province is developing a strategy to attract investment, focusing on projects that are less labor intensive, have advanced technology and have little impact on the environment. In addition to economic development strategies, the province is building and developing smart cities, expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation relations with localities and international organizations. Currently, the province is an official member and a reliable partner of 3 international organizations: Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), Asian Economic Cooperation Forum (Horasis) and World Trade Centers Association (WTCA). For 4 consecutive years (from 2019 to 2022), Binh Duong has been honored by ICF as one of 21 cities and regions with typical smart city development strategies in the world. In particular, in 2021 and 2022, the province is honored to be ranked in the Top 7 ICF, becoming one of the 7 communities with typical smart city development strategies in the world.

Mr. Nitta Hachiro said that the delegation's composition this time includes an economic delegation and 20 enterprises from Toyama Prefecture. He shared that Toyama Prefecture has had economic and cultural exchanges since 2003 with Ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam. Currently, there are 11 enterprises of Toyama Prefecture investing in Binh Duong. The Toyama Prefectural Government has surveyed the investment needs of enterprises in the province and Vietnam is the first country that enterprises choose to invest in because Vietnam has a fast and sustainable economic growth rate. Therefore, Toyama Prefecture wishes to strengthen cultural and economic exchanges with localities of Vietnam, including Binh Duong.
