Overview of the signing ceremony
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thien - Chairman of Biwase's Board of Directors, currently, Biwase's waste treatment complex receives over 2,500 tons of domestic waste and over 300 tons of industrial waste per day. After 3 times of increasing capacity, the plant currently separates, screens and classifies organic waste for composting with a capacity of 1,700 tons/day and a burning capacity of 200 tons/day. With this signed project, the plant will increase the screening capacity to 2,500 tons/day. Since then, 100% of domestic waste is classified and recycled as organic fertilizer.

After more than 6 months of negotiation, Biwase and two partners ADB and JICA have achieved important results in a credit contract worth 20 million USD for the project. This is a unsecured government loan facility.

Although the project of waste to energy incinerator is not new, with advanced technology, low ash and slag (about 7%) is the first in Vietnam. This amount of ash and slag is not buried but continues to be recycled into bricks and concrete.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Mai Hung Dung congratulated the successful signing between the 3 units. He highly appreciated the projects and hoped that the project would contribute to the environmental protection of the province in the coming time. Biwase Company needs to use loans transparently, effectively and in accordance with the law, creating confidence for ADB to continue to support many other meaningful projects. Regarding the price of clean water service, waste treatment and service contracts, the relevant departments, branches and units will advise the PPC to consider promulgating as soon as possible in the spirit of harmonizing interests between enterprises and people.
