At the ceremony, the University organized the awarding of degrees to 258 undergraduate students and 70 graduate students of the following programs: Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (MEN), Business Administration (BBA), Finance and Accounting (BFA), Computer Science (CSE), Mechatronics and Sensor Systems Technology (MST), Business Information Systems (BIS), Computational Engineering (COM); Sustainable Urban Development (SUD); Global Production Engineering and Management (GPE); Master of Business Administration (MBA); Water Technology, Reuse and Management (WTE).

The University also awarded 160 talent scholarships (worth 100%, 50% and 25% of tuition fees); 46 DAAD scholarships from German Academic Exchange Service (including full-semester exchange scholarships at German partner Universities); 18 WUS scholarships, worth 1,000 Euro, funded by the Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Regional Development - State of Hessen; 15 scholarships worth 3,000 Euros awarded by the VGU's friends and supporters Association and some other prizes.

On this occasion, the University also celebrated the Opening Ceremony for the academic year 2022-2023 and awarded awards to honor the lecturers and teachers' dedication to VGU in the field of teaching and research.

VGU was established in 2008 on the basis of cooperation between the Government of Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany, with the orientation to become a leading research university in Vietnam and in the region; is the first university established within the framework of the project to build a number of excellent universities of the Government of Vietnam.
The current number of students at the University is 2,400 Vietnamese students and 70 international students studying with 07 bachelor's programs and 09 master's programs in the fields of computer science, engineering science, architecture, economics and management. The university is expected to have a size of about 6,000 students by 2030.
The university's 50-hectare campus has just come into operation
According to the University's statistics, the rate of VGU graduates who have jobs or continue their studies is 98%, of which 63% study for Master's degree in VGU or Germany and some other countries around the world, 12% study for Master's degree while working and 22% work full time. 94% of graduate students go to work or study further, do doctoral research abroad (of which 84% work and 10% study doctorate). In addition, statistics also show that students and graduates of VGU are employed in important positions in management or engineering of large domestic and international corporations. A recent survey by Simon Consultancy Pte Ltd (Singapore) also shows that the salary of VGU students and graduates is 1.5-2 times higher on average than students and graduates from other universities.
