At the meeting, the two sides exchanged, shared and gave orientations on cooperation for mutual development in the field of economy and trade, especially in environment. After the content of exchange and agreement on related issues as well as the technologies and solutions of METI Kansai, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the implementation of environmental projects. Accordingly, the two sides will work closely to solve problems of the ecological environment in general and the industrial environment in particular.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung said that the speed of socio-economic development in the province is taking place rapidly, increasing the amount of waste, creating great pressure on environmental protection. Although in the past time, the province has implemented many tasks and solutions to improve efficiency in environmental management and protection; industrial parks and industrial clusters all have wastewater treatment systems up to the prescribed standards. However, the reality shows that there are still many problems that need the cooperation and sharing of scientists, especially experts and scientists from Japan, a country with modern science and management experience to support and help Binh Duong gradually improve and increase efficiency in environmental protection.

Provincial leaders also expect that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening the relationship between the two sides, promoting the development of Binh Duong and METI Kansai. Thereby, helping Binh Duong have the opportunity to access new equipment, techniques and technologies in the field of environmental protection, as well as to train high-quality human resources to ensure solving environmental problems, aiming to develop Binh Duong into a smart city. He requested the functional branches of the province to closely coordinate with METI Kansai to perform well the tasks according to the program and plan set out for the project to achieve the highest efficiency.

Mr. Ibuki Hideaki said, METI Kansai is the representative agency of the Japan's Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry in the Kansai Economic Region, in charge of 7 Western provinces of Japan, of which Osaka is the center. He assessed, Binh Duong is one of the dynamic development localities, rich in potential, abundant human resources and vast land resources, which is the leading destination of Japanese investors.

He hoped that after completing the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, the two sides would have a detailed implementation roadmap of cooperation plans. He committed that enterprises in the METI Kansai ecosystem will have a full range of solutions and modern technologies to support in solving environmental problems for Binh Duong; at the same time, he will call on Japanese enterprises operating in the province to actively comply with regulations and join hands to protect the environment.
