At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi said that Binh Duong is a dynamically developing province in the Southern Key Economic Region. Recently, the Central Government has issued many policies and orientations for the overall development of the Region, which is an important premise for Binh Duong to develop further in the coming period. In order for Binh Duong to continue to develop dynamically and creatively as expected by the Government, investment in infrastructure, especially inter-regional transport infrastructure, is very important to create a driving force to promote socio-economic development of the province.

Overview of the reception​

In order to create conditions for smooth logistics development from industrial parks to airports and seaports; development of urban projects in Binh Duong New City and TOD projects (model based on traffic development orientation as the basis for urban planning and development) on the My Phuoc-Tan Van road researched and developed by Tokyu Group, Binh Duong province has proposed the Japanese Government and JICA to support ODA and accelerate the implementation of 03 projects with a total loan of 543 billion yen from JICA (equivalent to 95,000 billion VND), including: Public transport infrastructure improvement project in Binh Duong province; Urban railway project connecting to Ho Chi Minh City's Metro Line No.1 from Suoi Tien station to Binh Duong New City; Bau Bang – Thi Vai – Cai Mep industrial railway project with a length of 127.45km.

These projects will create a premise for comprehensive logistics and TOD development, opening up new development space for Binh Duong province. In 2023, the province will focus on site clearance for roads and key projects. At the same time, negotiating with international credit institutions and mobilizing domestic resources to implement engineering construction projects.

The Secretary appreciated the contributions and support of Japanese partners, especially JICA to the development process of the province. The Secretary wished that on the basis of the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan as well as the close cooperation between Binh Duong province and JICA during the past time, Binh Duong will continue to receive the attention and support from JICA to accelerate the progress of projects.

Thanks to the warm welcome of Binh Duong province's leaders, Mr. Shimizu Akira expressed his impression of the province's positive development over the past years. He acknowledged and supported Binh Duong's proposals and recommendations for transport and urban infrastructure development projects in the province. At the same time, he thanked the province for the concern and support for Japanese enterprises and people living and working in the province, which shows the good connection between Binh Duong and Japan.

In the coming time, JICA will continue to focus on investment projects in the province, quickly promote projects to facilitate socio-economic development for Binh Duong in the coming period. With the projects proposed by the province, depending on the relevant projects, JICA will coordinate to organize specific working sessions to develop the implementation plan as soon as possible.
