Overview of the ceremony
The VGU campus is designed with the idea of combining a modern and flexible space distribution with a construction mindset that focuses on the environment, with full functions as well as converging the advantages of modernity, intelligence, sustainability and pioneering in the educational environment. The total area of VGU campus is 50.5 hectares and 154,000 square meters of construction floor is invested nearly 200 million USD. The VGU campus offers a university urban ecosystem that includes fully functional areas such as academic buildings designed with the same model, differing only in size and color; other buildings including a Library, Conference Hall, Executive Building, Sports Center, Technical Center, Canteen, Dormitory for students and trainees, and housing area for experts and lecturers, etc. all have their own mark and stand out in the middle of the campus. Each building uses a passive cooling system by taking advantage of design features, reducing emissions and saving energy, saving operating and maintenance costs and improving the health of users. In particular, the system of laboratories for training and research includes 21 specialized laboratories, along with countless common laboratories and computer labs to serve the teaching and research of students, lecturers and researchers.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam congratulated VGU on inaugurating the campus. He thanked the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, the State of Hessen, and the World Bank for creating all conditions for VGU to operate effectively during the past time; at the same time, he highly appreciated the efforts and overcomes many difficulties of the staff, lecturers and students of the University.

In order for VGU to develop further in the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the University together with ministries and branches need to gather and effectively use all resources to continue building and perfecting the management apparatus and mechanism in the direction of modernity, leanness, efficiency and transparency, thereby, creating an advanced university governance model. Concentrating resources and cooperating with partner universities to continue developing advanced training programs according to German standards. At the same time, further expanding cooperation with enterprises to develop training programs associated with the needs of the labor market in the 4.0 industry. Promoting recruitment and training of human resources, especially lecturers and managers to promote and implement the process of transferring training programs, ensuring the effective use and operation of the campus and sustainable development. Continuing to focus on developing scientific research culture; building a team of lecturers who are passionate about scientific research, creative and exemplary to directly have practical scientific products that contribute to the development of the country. Strengthening deep and wide cooperation with German universities and prestigious universities in the world to promote and improve the quality of training, scientific research, academic exchange and especially exchange of lecturers and students.
