Mr. Pham Van Bong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in 2022, 65 products of 40 subjects in 06 districts and towns of the province registered to participate in the OCOP program. Through reviewing the documents, the Binh Duong province's OCOP product classification and evaluation council has evaluated and classified 65 products according to Decision No. 1048/QD-TTg and Decision No. 781/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. As a result, the Council submitted to the PPC to recognize 19 products of 12 subjects that achieved 3-star OCOP products (with scores ranging from 50 to 69 points).
These products satisfy the condition of being specialty, typical and traditional products of the locality; ensuring the criteria of quality, food safety and hygiene, traceability, packaging and labeling according to consumer market trends and regulations.

Thus, up to this point, Binh Duong province has 47 products that have been recognized as OCOP products at provincial level, of which 08 products have achieved 4 stars and 39 products have achieved 3 stars.
With the goal of developing forms of production and business organization (prioritizing the development of cooperatives, small and medium-sized enterprises) to produce traditional products and services with standard advantages, capable of competitiveness in domestic and international markets, contributing to rural economic development and economic restructuring, improving income and living standards for the people, in 2020, Binh Duong PPC issued Decision No. 1166/QD-UBND dated April 29, 2020 approving the Project of One Commune One Product Program in Binh Duong province for the 2018-2020 period, with orientation to 2025.

In the 2021-2025 period, the province sets a target that 100% of communes in the province have products participating in the OCOP program; at least 150 entities register to participate in the OCOP Program; at least 80 products with 3 stars or more are certified for OCOP products at provincial level, at least 3 products with 5 stars are certified for national OCOP products.

Evaluation of OCOP products is based on product quality criteria: sensory criteria, nutrition, product uniqueness, product standards, exportability and distribution in international markets and criteria on production organization, product development, community strength, marketing ability, etc. The total evaluation score for each product is up to 100 points and is divided into 5 grades, of which 5th is the highest.
