Groundbreaking Lego Manufacturing Vietnam of more than 1 billion USD in Binh Duong

​On the morning of November 03, LEGO Group (Denmark) officially held the Lego Manufacturing Vietnam Groundbreaking Ceremony in Vietnam - Singapore III Industrial Park (Hoi Nghia Ward, Tan Uyen Town). This is the largest scale project of the LEGO Group in Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were Crown Prince of Denmark Frederik; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh; Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of Binh Duong provincial Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Vo Van Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC); leader representatives of provincial departments, branches, Tan Uyen town.

Mr. Niels B. Christiansen - President and CEO of LEGO Group said that the Lego Manufacturing Vietnam is built on an area of 44 hectares with a total investment of more than 1.3 billion USD. This is the 6th factory worldwide and 2nd in Asia of the LEGO Group. This project will help strengthen the Group's long-term development strategy in Asia as well as diversify the supply chain of the Group in the region and the world. This is also the first factory of the LEGO Group to be developed in a green, sustainable and environmentally friendly direction with the goal of zero carbon emissions, especially, the entire power source used for the factory operation is renewable energy supplied from the solar panel system from the solar cell field right next to the factory, so it will have a very positive impact on the environment and ecosystem, contributing to the green growth strategy of Binh Duong province in particular and of Vietnam in general.

Mr. Niels B. Christiansen thanked the leaders of Vietnamese Government, ministries, branches and leaders of Binh Duong province for creating all conditions for LEGO Group to ground-break the Lego Manufacturing Vietnam on schedule. At the same time, he believed that the factory will officially come into operation in mid-2024 as planned by the Group.

Congratulating LEGO Group on ground-breaking the factory in Binh Duong, Chairman of the PPC Vo Van Minh emphasized, with a wealth of experience in attracting investment along with a smart and sustainable development strategy in the future, he fully believed that Binh Duong will be the right place for LEGO Group to develop in the long term and do business effectively. Binh Duong provincial government is committed to creating the best conditions for the Group throughout the process of development, construction and operation in the province, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality in particular and Vietnam in general.
