Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Lai Xuan Thanh - Chairman of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations said that currently, through the survey, many enterprises, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises, have not clearly seen the need and necessity for DT. Some enterprises want to transform but do not know the difference between information technology application and DT, cannot imagine the transformation model and roadmap for their enterprises, and do not know where to start to achieve good results. Therefore, the purpose of this Seminar is to inform enterprises about DT to develop according to the general trend of the whole country and the guidelines and policies of the Provincial Party Committee, the PPC on DT, building the digital economy; introduce a number of DT roadmaps and solutions according to specific circumstances and conditions of enterprises; connect small and medium-sized enterprises, facilitating data collection on the current status and needs of DT, creating a foundation for consulting on future DT models.

Sharing experiences of DT to improve the ability to respond to changes in the business environment, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Truong Huy - Vice President of John von Neumann Institute, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, a consultant and lecturer in DT of SmartPro Consulting and Training Joint Stock Company said that enterprises need to be aware of their context and that different contexts from enterprises, products to customers will offer enterprises different competitive spaces for innovation on digital platforms. Then enterprises need to clearly define their goals and resources for DT. These are basic information that is very important for the enterprise's DT strategy. To ensure high DT success, enterprises first need to build an architecture or master plan on DT, realizing the contents of the strategy. The DT plan should start with core areas such as production, business, sales, and finance, and then expand to administrative areas because core areas will generate data for administration. The final step of the plan will aim to create new knowledge, values, and innovative proposals of enterprises on the basis of comprehensive integration of core areas and administration areas. The guiding principle of this process is to measure costs, revenues, profits, and values achieved according to the strategy set by the enterprise. A sustainable DT enterprise will constantly find new DT opportunities to maintain its competitiveness, not stop at a fixed state.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Tung - Head of Human Resources Development and DT Department of Binh Duong Furniture Association said that digitalization and DT in the wood industry play a very important role, contributing to increasing labor productivity. Wood enterprises need to develop a DT plan, which applying to the management and production fields will double productivity, reduce labor by half, and speed up production more efficiently thanks to the use of automation technologies. According to him, three factors including: DT, automation and digitization will create a leap forward for enterprises.
Other enterprises also said that in order for their DT to be successful, enterprises need to plan a detailed strategy, change perception, thinking, remove barriers, develop appropriate policies and procedures, starting from infrastructure. The factors for successful DT include: Thinking and determination of leaders, clear DT strategy, human capacity of the organization, standardization and digitization of process systems, investment in technology application, etc.
