The route will expand to the right with 02 lanes to 64m (from 06 lanes to 08 lanes). At the same time, sidewalks and trees are invested with synchronous drainage; investing in overpasses at the intersections of Binh Hoa and Huu Nghi crossroads, with the size of 04 lanes, and other intersections are studied and expanded to increase traffic capacity. In addition, the project also invests in a vertical drainage system with lighting on both sides of the road from Ben Cat to Bau Bang (Tham Rot bridge) bordering Binh Phuoc province. With the scale of the work, the National Highway 13 upgrade and expansion project continues to create a "technical framework" for socio-economic development of the province, meeting two major goals of relieving traffic pressure on the route and preparing for urban and service development.
Mr. Nguyen Van Danh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee speaks at the ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Nguyen Van Danh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized, National Highway 13 is the "backbone" traffic axis connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and Central Highlands provinces, has a particularly important role in the socio-economic development of Binh Duong province. Although it was invested to upgrade to 06 lanes more than 20 years ago, in recent years, this route has become overloaded, traffic congestion often occurs at peak hours.
Stemming from the urgent need to reduce traffic congestion, create conditions for urban embellishment and development, and services along National Highway 13, the province has a policy of investing in expanding more lanes, building bridges over traffic intersections, sewers and planting more trees from Vinh Phu welcome gate to Le Hong Phong intersection. The completed project not only meets transportation needs, relieves traffic pressure, but also opens the door for Binh Duong to develop and attract investment in the coming time.
Provincial leaders perform the groundbreaking ceremony of the National Highway 13 upgrade and expansion project
"This is one of the key transport projects of the province, which is very interested by the Party Committee, authorities and people and is expected to be completed soon with the best quality, therefore, I assign the responsibility to the Department of Transport to regularly inspect the quality management of the investor; for difficulties and problems, if any, during the construction process, they must actively handle the contents within their competence or record and promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to handle cases beyond their competence. At the same time, it is suggested that the construction unit focus on manpower and equipment to speed up the progress, immediately focus on constructing the vertical drainage system to reduce flooding and ensure traffic safety in the upcoming rainy season. Provincial leaders would like to thank the people and enterprises on both sides of the route and in the area for wholeheartedly supporting the project, especially the good coordination in compensation, clearance, and handover of the site for early completion and put it into operation and use it effectively" - emphasized the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
National Highway 13 upgrade and expansion BOT project officially breaks ground

National Highway 13 is the "backbone" traffic axis that plays a special role in Binh Duong's socio-economic development
Thuan An is the area where most of the National
Highway 13 passes. Facing the new requirements of development, the early
upgrading of National Highway 13 to overcome traffic jams and local flooding is
an urgent requirement to meet the expectations of people and enterprises here. Mr.
Nguyen Thanh Tam - Chairman of Thuan An City People's Committee shared: “The
leaders of Thuan An city as well as the people in the area are very excited
when the project is implemented. The implementation of the National Highway 13
expansion project not only meets the needs of transport, relieves traffic
pressure, but also opens the door for Thuan An in particular and Binh Duong
province in general to develop in terms of economy, society, politics, security
and defense.”
As a resident living and working in the area
directly affected by National Highway 13, Mr. Nguyen Van Huu (Thuan Giao ward,
Thuan An city) shared: “Thanks to National Highway 13, it is very convenient
for our people to travel, especially when we need to go to Ho Chi Minh City and
other provinces. However, in recent years, many companies, factories, and
enterprises have sprung up, workers from all over the world have come to Binh
Duong to settle down and do business more and more, the road is also getting more
and more crowded, from people's daily-life vehicles to factories' goods trucks,
leading to overcrowding, traffic jams, and local flooding when it rains more
and more. Therefore, upgrading National Highway 13 is an extremely necessary
job for our people, this is a very wise and correct decision of local
authorities at all levels. We hope that the province will soon complete the
work to ensure traffic safety and people's travel."
