Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets with the Vietnam Association for Women Entrepreneurs

​PORTAL - On the occasion of International Women's Day March 08, on the morning of March 07, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with the Vietnam Association for Women Entrepreneurs. Attending were Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh and nearly 1,000 women entrepreneurs. The meeting was broadcast online to bridge points in 28 provinces and cities.

Attending at Binh Duong bridge point were Mr. Nguyen Van Danh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representative leaders of a number of departments, branches and women entrepreneurs in the province.

After 7 years of establishment, the Vietnam Association for Women Entrepreneurs has continuously grown and developed. The number of members increased by 400%, the percentage of women-owned enterprises increased from 4% in 2009 to 21% in 2011 and now reaches 25% (the highest in Southeast Asia and ranked 19/54 in the Index of Women Entrepreneurs). Vietnam currently ranks 6th among the countries with the highest percentage of women entrepreneurs and is the only Asian representative in the top 10 countries in this rate.

 

Delegates attends at Binh Duong bridge point

The delegates affirmed that it is the special attention of the Party and State, the entire political system, all levels, branches and people nationwide with appropriate mechanisms, policies, solutions and outstanding efforts of the team of women entrepreneurs themselves has contributed to the success and outstanding results of women entrepreneurs, women-owned and led enterprises.

The relentless efforts of the leaders of the Party, State and Government have inspired enterprises in general and women entrepreneurs in particular to strictly abide by the guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State, make efforts to improvise in the face of difficulties and challenges, both in pandemic prevention and control and in production and business, actively participating in the global value chain, contributing to the pandemic prevention and control.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that Vietnamese women have made great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation throughout the long history of the struggle for national liberation and reunification before, as well as in the national construction and defense today.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and spirit of overcoming difficulties of the entrepreneur community, women-owned enterprises in the cause of national construction, development and defense. At the same time, he wished that, in the coming time, the Vietnam Association For Women Entrepreneurs would continue to work closely with Ministries, branches and localities to remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for the women entrepreneurs to develop; strengthen linkages and cooperation, create bridges to promote production between enterprises and foreign partners; promote trade promotion for domestic consumption and export.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also wanted women entrepreneurs to actively update their knowledge, promote the application of information technology in production and business, to meet the requirements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and international integration; continue to accompany all levels, branches and localities in implementing safe, flexible adaptation and effective control over the Covid-19 pandemic in the spirit of the Government's Resolution 128, contributing to fast and sustainable socio-economic recovery and development.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Danh presented flowers and sent best wishes to the province's women entrepreneurs. At the same time, he wished that women entrepreneurs would continue to promote their bravery and wisdom in an effort to steer the enterprise' boat to overcome difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. From there, restoring production and business activities, making more active contributions to the province's general socio-economic development.​
