Overview of the Congress
For the 2016-2021 tenure, in the context of the global and regional situation with many changes and challenges, the AE at all levels in Binh Duong province has received a lot of leadership attention from the Party executive committees, authorities and the effective coordination of the Fatherland Front, mass organizations and functional branches. The Association has well performed activities of caring for and promoting the role of the Elderly. With the emulation movement called "Old age - Bright example", the elderly in the province have actively contributed to the common achievements of the province over the past time.
During the tenure, the entire province developed 21,015 members, 9,275 more than the previous tenure. Currently, the total number of members aged 60 and over is 78,433 people/91,158 elderly, reaching the rate of 86.05%. The AE at all levels are always interested in coordinating to take care of the elderly in terms of material, spiritual and health, contributing to well implementing social security policies of the Party and the government.

On the basis of the achieved results and limitations in the past tenure, the Provincial Congress of the AE for the 2021-2026 tenure has set out a key task in the coming time to build a strong association, strengthen and improve the efficiency of elderly care, and promote the role of the elderly. In particular, expanding and improving the quality and practical effectiveness of the "Old age - Bright example" emulation movement in the 2021-2026 period, focusing on building and replicating new factor models and good practices, etc. In the new tenure, striving to gather over 90% of the elderly into the association; 100% of Association officials at all levels are trained and fostered in basic contents and working skills of the Association; 100% of communes, wards and commune-level towns build and maintain regular activities and develop Funds to care for and promote the role of the elderly; 100% of the AE in communes, wards and commune-level towns build at least one Club of the elderly according to the appropriate type.

Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Vietnam AE Nguyen Thanh Binh recognized and praised the achievements of the Binh Duong provincial AE in the past tenure, with the spirit of "Old age - Bright example", the Association at all levels and each official and member of the AE in the province continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, overcome all difficulties, and actively strive to build a strong and comprehensive Association, the care for the elderly, promoting the role of the elderly is promoted; especially the policies to take care of the elderly are higher than the national average, etc. He suggested that in the new tenure, the Provincial AE should focus on propagating and encouraging the elderly to continue contributing to the cause of national and local construction and development and national defense. Continuing to promote and synchronize the work of the elderly in all 3 areas: Protecting, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly; building a strong and comprehensive Association, enhancing member development; improving operational quality.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Nguyen Van Loc wished that in the new tenure, with the spirit of "Old age - Bright example", the Associations at all levels and each official and member of the AE in the province continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, overcome all difficulties, actively strive to build a strong and comprehensive Association, successfully implement the Resolution. At the same time, the AE needs to proactively and promptly advise and propose to the Party Committee and authorities issues related to the care and promotion of the elderly, as well as the organization and operation of the Association. The Associations at all levels should regularly pay attention to political and ideological work among elderly officials and members in flexible and appropriate forms. Since then, creating a spillover in society, mobilizing the elderly to continue making plans to contribute to building Binh Duong for sustainable development in the direction of a smart, civilized and modern city.

The Congress elected the Provincial AE's Standing Committee for the 2021-2026 tenure, including 13 delegates. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vinh was re-elected Chairman and Mr. Nguyen Quoc Bao was re-elected Vice Chairman of the Provincial AE for the 2021-2026 tenure.
