Binh Duong presents 66 savings books to the children of Trade union members who died due to Covid-19

​PORTAL - On the morning of December 5, at the Convention and Exhibition Center of Binh Duong province, the Provincial Confederation of Labor (CF) held a program to give "Vietnam Trade Union Savings Book" to orphans who are children of Trade Union members who died due to Covid-19.

​​Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Head of Commission for Mass Mobilization of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Hoang Bao Tram - Vice President of the Provincial CF said that the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic has caused heavy losses to the entire country, including Binh Duong. Along with the entire provincial political system, Binh Duong Trade Union at all levels has made great efforts to take care and support workers with many practical activities. Through the support packages of the Trade Union, the Provincial CF and the Trade Union at all levels have focused on timely support for workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic with an amount of over 307 billion VND; established Centers to receive and distribute goods and necessities from localities, organizations and individuals to support workers over 640 tons of goods; promptly visited and encouraged the children, giving them confectionery, milk, diapers, etc. when they had to undergo quarantine.

Up to now, Binh Duong has returned to the new normal, the lives of people and workers have gradually stabilized. However, the pandemic left many consequences. Many families had to be separated and lost the main breadwinner in the house; Children have lost their parents and babies born are not allowed to lie in the loving arms of their parents, not to drink the first drop of milk in their lives. Understanding that difficulty and loss, the Trade union levels in the province have been and will focus a lot of resources to work with all levels of government, mass organizations and enterprises to accompany workers and workers' children.

At the program, the Provincial CF gave savings books to 66 children of Trade union members who died due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Each savings book is worth 10 million VND for the orphan whose mother or father has died and 20 million VND for the orphan whose both parents have died.​

On this occasion, Vietinbank supported each case 500,000 VND. In particular, 15 children with extremely difficult circumstances were supported by the Binh Duong Young Entrepreneurs Association with 03 million VND each case.​

In the coming time, the Provincial CF will continue to complete the application procedures to give the "Trade Union Savings Book" to more than 40 cases of orphans who are children of Trade union members who died due to the Covid-19.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Nguyen Van Loc conveyed his deep condolences to the family whose loved one died due to Covid-19 infection and shared with the family damaged and affected by the pandemic. He suggested the Provincial CF and Trade Unions at all levels continue to closely coordinate with branches and localities to promote propaganda and mobilize workers to actively implement regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control; effectively organize models, programs and activities to support disadvantaged workers affected by the Covid-19 to share, help people stabilize their lives, create peace of mind, trust and raise awareness about pandemic prevention and control. At the same time, calling on philanthropists, enterprises and individuals inside and outside the province to continue to support resources to take care of and support the poor and those facing difficulties due to the Covid-19, to soon stabilize their lives.
