As reported, after 05 years of implementing the Plan, departments, committees, branches and localities have implemented 13 investment priority projects. In which, 07 projects completed, 06 projects have been implemented the construction with many important urgent items prioritized for implementation first, completed and put into use. In addition, the province has also deployed 23 key missions, up to now, 18 missions have been completed, 02 missions are in progress, 03 missions are suspended due to many objective reasons.
The Natural Resources and Environment branch has inspected and examined nearly 5,700 units and enterprises. Thereby sanctioning 1,945 units with a total amount of over 139 billion VND. Up to now, 100% of establishments on the list of establishments causing serious environmental pollution have completed remedial measures. Regarding environmental pollution hotspots, the province has directed to speed up the implementation progress of drainage projects in areas with many enterprises and densely populated areas, at the same time coordinating with neighboring regions to deal with interprovincial environmental issues.

In the period of 2016-2020, the province has also focused on implementing many works and measures to prevent, control and limit the impact of high tide, inundation and saltwater intrusion due to sea level rise such as maintenance and upgrading of projects on roads and dykes surrounding the Saigon River; construction of drainage systems and saline prevention sluices, etc.
At the conference, delegates discussed and proposed many solutions for relocating scrap business facilities out of urban areas, connecting water sources, pollution of canals and ditches; pilot model of waste separation at source; waste treatment in companies and factories; overcoming environmental incidents; regimes for grassroots natural resources and environment officials, etc.
In the period of 2021-2025, the Plan is concretized with 27 projects, 11 key missions with the following objectives: 100% of establishments causing serious environmental pollution are inspected and handled; 99% of domestic solid waste is collected and treated; 100% of industrial parks, industrial clusters put into operation have wastewater treatment systems meeting environmental standards, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Mai Hung Dung assessed that, compared to the previous period, the province has done well with environmental protection in the past five years; programs, projects and missions all achieved the set plan. In the coming time, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requires departments, committees, branches and localities to promote propaganda activities to raise awareness of people and enterprises, and publicize environmental data on the media. Strengthening inspection, examination, and strictly handling environmental violations; exploitation and transportation of sand and stone; localizing and concentrating on handling polluted areas that cause frustration. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment synthesizes the delegates' proposals and recommendations and advises the Provincial People's Committee to resolve.
