There are 184 members in the Board of Representatives of VBSP Binh Duong from provincial to district levels. The Board of Representatives is implementing 11 credit programs for poor households and other beneficiaries of social welfare with a total outstanding loan of VND 3,130 billion, focusing mainly on lending programs to poor, near-poor and newly-escaped poor households, students, clean water and sanitation, employment, etc. Thank to credit activities, it has provided preferential capital to the poor and other beneficiaries of social welfare which bring a positive contribution to poverty reduction, job creation and social security in the area.
In the first 6 months of 2020, the local budget shifted to VBSP for providing the loans to poor households and other entities with the amount of VND 186 billion, bringing the total local budget capital to VND 1,530 billion.
Up to now, the total capital of the VBSP has achieved VND 3,233 billion, an increase of VND 394 billion compared to the beginning of 2020. Total loan amount is VND 750 billion for more than 18,000 customers, an increase of VND 246 billion compared to the same period in 2019. Along with credit growth, the Board of Representatives of BOD VBSP at all levels directs VBSP to coordinate with trust organizations and local authorities to implement drastically and synchronously solutions to improve credit quality in the area. Overdue debt accounts for 0.17% of the total loan balance, no embezzlement or capital appropriation.
At the conference, members of the Board of Representatives of BOD VBSP in the provinces and districts, towns and cities discussed the directions and tasks that need to be focused from now to the end of the year, in which continued to implement well the direction of the Central Government, the Provincial Party Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership on social policy credit, completing the inspection and supervision plan, etc. At the same time, proposing to the Provincial People's Committee interested in entrusting and supplementing capital sources for job creation in the second phase of 2020 through VBSP to support workers and prevent black credit.
Concluding the conference, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted a number of shortcomings and limitations in the coordination between members of the Board of Representatives, the inspection and supervision program of socio-political organizations entrusted. He asked the BOD of VBSP to review the results of implementing the targets set by the Board of Representatives from the beginning of the year; consolidate and improve credit quality; strengthen the inspection and supervision; concurrently, it also expressed the responsibility to remove difficulties in implementing the credit package to support those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
On this occasion, Mr. Dang Minh Hung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Representative of BOD of VBSP Binh Duong Province received the Certificate of Merit from the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam for outstanding achievements in 05 years of implementating the Directive No. 40-CT/TW of the Central Committee Secretariat on "strengthening the Party's leadership on social policy credit".
