In 6 first months of 2019, Hong Kong is the largest investor among 32 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong with the registered capital of 310.2 million US dollars, account for 21.4%, the second is Samoa with 166 million US dollars.
FDI projects were invested mainly in processing and mechanic industries and trading with 153 new registered, adjusted and contributed and share purchase projects of total capital of 1.2 billion US dollars, account for 81.6% of total FDI capital
Foreign businesses focused in investing 1.03 billion US dollars in industrial parks equivalent to 71.6 % FDI capital in the first two semester of 2019 with 96 new registered projects, 33 adjusted projects and 145 contributed and share purchase projects.
Currently, Binh Duong province ranks the third locality of Viet Nam (after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi) in term of FDI attraction with 3,644 projects with total capital of 33.75 billion US dollars., in which, 2,272 projects of 21.8 billion US dollars were invested in industrial parks, account for 67% of total FDI of the whole province.
Taiwan is the biggest investor among 64 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong province with 841 projects of over 5.5 billion US dollars, the second is Japan with 298 projects of over 5.2 billion US dollars, Singapore ranks the third with 237 projects of 4.3 billion US dollars, the followers are Samoa and South Korea.
Aiming to become the destination of foreign investors, according to Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of Binh Duong People's Committee, Binh Duong deployed uniformly many activities including improving the social and technical infrastructure, improving the human resources as well as expanding the international cooperation through investment, trade promotion conferences, dialogues with investors, establishing the friendship relation with foreign provinces/cities (Binh Duong have established the friendship relation with 10 foreign provinces and cities including Daejeon Metropolitan - South Korea, Champasak Province – Laos, Kratie province – Cambodia, Emilia-Romagna region – Italy, Yamaguchi prefecture – Japan East Flanders – Belgium, Guangzhou – China, Eindhoven and Emmen Cities – Netherlands, Oryol Oblast – Russsia); joining the international organizations including World Technopolis Association (WTA), holding the Horasis Asia Meeting, WTA event, … Especially, Binh Duong was recognized one of the 21 cities/ regions having the typical strategy on smart city (SMART21).
