Through 2019 Labor Inspection Campaign with the theme "Compliance with labor laws for sustainable development of the wood processing industry" to strengthen compliance, create a better and more stable working environment for the wood processing industry; mobilize the participation of social agencies and partners to solve non-compliance issues; at the same time, it helps businesses to manage labor well and promote harmonious labor relations. The activities set out in the Campaign are focused on promoting communication, inspection and guidance on improving compliance and training etc.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Minh Hung - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong provincial People's Committee said, over the recent years, wood processing has always been identified by Binh Duong province as a key export industry of the province, high quality products, beautiful designs and prestige in domestic and foreign markets, has high growth rates. The province has 1,215 wood processing enterprises, of which 905 domestic enterprises and 310 foreign enterprises. In 2018, wood processing is the industry with the largest export turnover in the province, reaching more than US $3 billion, accounting for 12% of the province's total export turnover and accounting for 40% of the country's total wood export turnover. Therefore, the Campaign is an opportunity for wood processing enterprises in the province to access the necessary regulations and knowledge to well perform occupational safety and health; promptly rectify and handle acts of violating labor legislation; at the same time, discovering inadequacies and loopholes in mechanisms and policies to propose competent state agencies to apply remedial solutions. Thereby improving working conditions, reducing occupational accidents and occupational diseases, which contributes to increase sustainable development of wood processing industry in the country generally and in Binh Duong province particularly.
