Mai Hung Dung, Permanent Deputy Chairman of provincial People's Committee affirmed that the historic Day of Jan 7th 1979 has been the milestone for the good international solidarity and special friendship between peoples of Viet Nam and Cambodia that opened new era for upgrading relationship between the two neighboring countries. For over 40 years, the traditional relationship has been raised up. The two-way trade turnover averaged yearly from 30% to 40%, gaining USD 3.8 billion in 2017. For the first 7 months of 2018, the export turnover made by the two countries achieved USD 2.7 billion, up 18.7% against the same period of 2017. Viet Nam is currently the third-biggest commercial partner of Cambodia. With over 190 projects in Cambodia, Viet Nam is ranked fifth in term of number of investment projects.

In Binh Duong, activities to improve bilateral foreign affair relation with Cambodia have been constantly held and maintained. They include exchange visits of delegations of the two countries, the cooperation between Binh Duong and other localities of Kandal and Kratie provinces…Information and experiences have always been shared. Binh Duong has also supported localities of Cambodia in different fields such as healthcare, social and economic cooperation…with good results.
