At the reception, Piter de Jong emphasized that his working delegation aimed at discussing with Binh Duong provincial departments and sectors to speed up launching such aiding programs of Netherlands's Government as ORIO and DRIVE (Development Related Infrastructure Investment Vehicle) for wastewater treatment projects in Binh Duong. He added with DRIVE program, Dutch Government has sponsored EUR 750 million till 2020 for 59 countries including Viet Nam. The program has been carried out under 3 forms: non-refundable aids, loans and guarantee. Piter de Jong expressed his hope to join hands in launching water related projects in Binh Duong and believed that DRIVE program and other ones will enable the launch of these projects.
Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Mai Hung Dung informed the Dutch working delegation of the current wastewater treatment system. Although it is rather good, the rapid urban development pushes challenging pressure on the tasks of wastewater treatment. Binh Duong is in need of aids source from Dutch Government for provincial projects. Dung expected that related sides will cooperate to solve difficulties in launching the aiding programs. Binh Duong provincial authorities will facilitate the launch of the projects.
