Early March 8th,
provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with Binh
Duong Television and BIWASE (Binh Duong Water Supply, Sewerage Environment
Co., Ltd) kicked off 8th Binh Duong Open International Woman Cycling
Tournament –BIWASE Cup 2018
The event welcomed the
attendances of Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee,
Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Huu Tu, Deputy Secretary of
Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice Chairman of the provincial
People's Council; Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's
Committee; leaders of Vietnam Motor-Bicycle Sports Federation, and
representatives of provincial departments.
Jointly organized by provincial
Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Binh Duong Television and BIWASE
(Binh Duong Water Supply, Sewerage Environment Co. Ltd), the event has
attracted 90 cyclists from 9 domestic teams, and 9 foreign teams from Japan,
the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Holland, the Philippines and
Kazakhstan.
The 9-day tournament with
9 stages will see participants compete on a total distance of 481km through
central highland and south-eastern provinces, to Da Lat city, coastal provinces
Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau. On the course,
cyclists will be challenged by several passes, which are the Bao Loc, Prenn and
Cu Hin.

This yearly competition
for female cyclists approved by national racing system helps create
opportunities for domestic cyclists to learn experiences, improve racing skills
to compete in other national races, SEA Games and Asian tournaments.

Addressing the kick-off
ceremony, Deputy Chairman of provincial People’s Committee emphasized that the
event made its remarkable success in previous years and has made good
impression on participants that helped them achieve good result on national and
international stages. This year’s tournament continues to prove its important
role, opening new season for Vietnam cycling competitions and significantly
congratulating the International Women’s Day. Hung also wished cyclists good
achievements and LOC great success.
