In recent years, Bac Tan Uyen District has established citrus orchards for high productivity and economic efficiency. Among the most is orange, followed by green grapefruit, tangerines and lemon without seeds. Up to now, the district has about 2.000ha of citrus, mainly concentrated in 6 communes: Dat Cuoc, Tan My, Thuong Tan, Lac An, Tan Dinh and Hieu Liem, with many farms, orchards are planted in accordance with VietGAP standard. The orchard has entered into fruit stable period, output is expected to reach tens thousands tons per year; brings income from 600 million to about 1 billion/ha.

To ensure a sustainable market for citrus, in 2015, the People's Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district has implemented the project "Building, managing and developing Bac Tan Uyen Orange and Bac Tan Uyen Grapefruit Collective trademark for orange and grapefruit in Bac Tan Uyen district". Over 2 years of implementation, the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology has issued the "Bac Tan Uyen Orange" and "Bac Tan Uyen Grapefruit" Collective trademark. To be granted the Title of Protection of Collective trademark is a milestone affirming the value and prestige of Bac Tan Uyen orange and grapefruit growers have enhanced, at the same time, functional sectors have good management in process of production, harvest, consumption as well as quality control. This is the premise for orange and grapefruit of Bac Tan Uyen reach out to the market.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Minh Hung requested Bac Tan Uyen district continue to build and implement plans for monoculture plantations of citrus fruit; at the same time, to invest in agricultural infrastructure development, especially transport, irrigation, electricity and commercial infrastructure; actively propagate and adopt guidelines and policies to support agriculture for farmers. Departments and agencies of province should actively deploy topics and projects to support the development and take care the output of citrus fruit products; promote trade promotion activities, gradually bringing Bac Tan Uyen fruit products to domestic consumers and exporters. Along with that, strengthen the promotion, information and communication on Bac Tan Uyen orange and grapefruit collective trademark on public information system, combines with promotion of local tourism to domestic and foreign friends.
