Accordingly, with the proactive and positive participation of all levels, business community and the people, socio-economic situation of Binh Duong province in the first 6 months of 2017 continued to develop stably and achieved many outstanding results.
Economy continues to grow
According to the PPC, in the first 6 months of 2017, most of the economic indicators achieved higher growth rate compared to the same period of 2016, matching orientation and objectives of the plan in 2017. Total Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased 7,85% over the same period, of which industry-construction increased 8,41%; services increased 7,61%; agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 3,76%; product tax increased by 6,45%. Budget revenue is estimated at 23 trillion dong, reaching 50% of the provincial People's Council budget and up 15% over the same period. The total investment capital for the whole society is estimated to reach 29.883 billion dong, up 10,9% over the same period.

Industrial sector, industrial production index is estimated to increase 8.53% over the same period in 2016. The total retail sales of goods and services are estimated at over 80.000 billion dong, up 20,2% over the same period. Export turnover is estimated at over 13 billion US dollars, up 16,7% over the same period in 2016. Imports are estimated at 9,8 billion US dollars, up 15,8%. One of the outstanding results in the first 6 months of 2017 is the situation of attracting investment and business development. By June 15th 2017, attracting domestic investment reached 20.802 billion dong, up 39,7% over the same period. Foreign direct investment attraction achieved 1.671 billion US dollars, reaching 119,4% of the plan in 2017. To date, the province has 28.075 domestic businesses with a total registered capital of 211.478 billion dong and 2.939 foreign-invested businesses with total registered capital of 27.43 billion US dollars.
Infrastructure of industrial parks has been improved, actively contribute in attracting investment
In addition, high-tech agricultural production is expanded; contributing to agricultural production value reached 5575 billion, up 3.8%. The whole province has an additional 10 communes meet new rural standards, bringing total number of new rural communes of the province to 42 communes.
Social security is guaranteed
Along with economic development, the field of culture - society continues to be invested. The province has mobilized about 821 billion dong to care for social welfare activities; construction and repair of 48 gratitude houses and 55 great unity houses. The province has created jobs for 25.692 employees. The education and training sector is interested in investing facilities and equipment in direction of standardization. At present, there are 591 schools and regular education centers (increasing 26 schools compared to the same period). The rate of floor- level reached 50,67%, the rate of national public schools reached 63,24%. The health care of people at all levels is guaranteed. The number of cases of foot and mouth disease and dengue fever decreased, but malaria and zika disease increased.
Care work for people with merit, policy family is paid attention
Promoting, propagandizing and organizing New Year activities, holidays, celebrations, especially the 20th Anniversary of Binh Duong, 2nd National Amateurs Festival ... are well organized. The mass sports movement is maintained and developed. Information and communication activities, science and technology continue to be ensured smoothly and effectively.
Strive to successfully achieve the objectives and tasks in 2017Besides the achievements, socio-economic province of Binh Duong province in the first 6 months of the year still has shortcomings. That is the situation of tax arrears remain high compared to the revenue estimates; disbursement and implementation of public investment by source of funds and management were all lower than planned; the work of compensation and clearance of a number of public investment projects encountered many problems; status of subdivision of the illegal selling also arise; number of strikes, traffic accidents, fire, and drowning are high; some complaints and denunciations left unanswered…
From now to the end of the year, the People's Committee will continue to direct branches and localities to focus on implementation of tasks and solutions to overcome above shortcomings, strive to fulfill objectives and tasks in 2017. Specifically, the province will drastically deploy tasks, solutions to improve business investment environment, committed to creating favorable environment for businesses. Implement reorganization plan of State enterprises and equalization work in accordance with schedule and plan approved by the Prime Minister. Concentrate the implementation of Directive No.07/CT-UBND dated May 3rd 2017 of the PPC on basic construction investment. Completebudget revenue and expenditure estimates for 2017; prevent loss, avoid inflation; handling tax arrears, strive for the end of the year not exceeds 5% of total revenue. Strengthen state management of land, minerals and environment; strictly handling illegal cases of mining minerals, sand and gravel. Promote the implementation of urban development and refurbishment program, Binh Duong Smart City Project.

Along with that, the province will continues mobilize all resources to organize activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of War Invalids martyrs; to ensure good, adequate, accurate and timely implementation of policies towards people with meritorious services and their relatives. Prepare good conditions for infrastructure, teachers, and content program for 2017-2018 academic years. Manage investment and improving the use of equipment in public health units...
In the internal affairs, the province will continue to promote administrative reform, anti-bureaucracy and negative public servants; review, adjust, amend and add policies across sectors. Implement measures to ensure political security, social order and safety in the province. At the same time, actively implement external activities; bring deepening international relations, contributing to effective implementation of international integration and investment attraction.
