Speaking at the
meeting, Mrs. Bon Sophi said that, the purpose of delegation's visit was to
discuss and learn the experiences of Binh Duong province, thereby tightening
the relationship between two localities of Binh Duong - Kratie on a basis of
good friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia. Emphasizing the
great role of women in society, she wished Binh Duong Women's
Union exchanges and shares experiences on organization structure, also the experiences
of the Union in recent years.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu
Hong - Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union informed
the delegation about organization, work and women's movement in Binh Duong
province. Accordingly, the provincial Women's Union is a socio-political
organization, operating under the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU), under the
leadership of the provincial Party committee and the VWU. The Union has the
function of caring and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women
and mobilizing women to abide by the Party's and State's undertakings and guidelines.
There are currently 259.639 members of Binh Duong Women's Union. The Union
always innovates in organizing emulation movements and fostering programs to
support women's economic development and health care. The proportion of elected
women of People's Councils at all levels over the period 2016-2021 achieved
over 25%; The percentage of women participating in committees at all levels for
the term 2015-2020 is over 20%...
At the meeting, the two
sides discussed and exchanged experiences on the development of the Union, the
structure of women in the State apparatus and solutions to support women in
economic development. Through that, contributing to improve
the quality of the Association, further enhance the
role and status of women, meeting the requirements international integration
process.
