Mr. Huynh Thanh Long, Standing member, Vice Chairman of the People's Council chaired the working session. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council and representatives of People's Council of the province, districts, towns and city also attended the working session.
According to the report released by the Department of Construction, the activities on urban planning are well-executed. Urban development program was deployed comprehensively, reaching almost all main criteria of 2015, some exceeded compared to the plan in the period between 2011 and 2015. All the new urban areas were well-invested with complete infrastructure. Until now Binh Duong has one 2nd grade urban, four 4th grade urban, four 5th grade urban and five new urban.
According to the evaluation, currently Binh Duong urban reached 75.42/100 points. Based on the Resolution no. 1210/2016/UBTVQH13, Binh Duong got 4/5 criteria (population density). To acquire those criterion, the Department of Construction suggested to check and adjust urban planning in Binh Duong and in Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An town, Di An town to identify the total area of inner city when Binh Duong be upgraded to 1st grade urban. Besides, investments on technical and social infrastructure system in housing development and new residential areas projects should be boosted and reckoned the population, especially under 6 month temporary residents.
In the future, the Department will coordinate with the People's Committee of districts to upgrade Thu Dau Mot City to 1st grade urban in 2017, Di An and Thuan An Town to 2nd grade urban in 2018-2019, Ben Cat town to 3rd grade urban in 2018, Dau Tieng, Phuoc Vinh, Bau Bang, Tan Thanh to 4th grade urban in 2018-2020, Thanh Tuyen (Ben Suc), Long Hoa, Minh Hoa, Long Nguyen, Tan Binh to 5th grade in 2020.

To conclude the working session, Mr. Huynh Thanh Long appreciated the efforts of provincial departments in urban development until 2020. The standing members of the People's Council almost agreed with the measures which would be used and requested the direction from the People's Committee for the urban development program, as well as encourage enterprises and citizens to take part in urban construction.
