The delegation paid a courtesy call
to the Provincial Party Committee. Mr. Mai The Trung, Member of the
Central Party Committee cum Head of the provincial National Assembly;
Mr. Tran Van Nam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman
of the PPC; Mr. Huynh Thanh Long, Standing member of the Provincial
Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and
leaders of provincial departments received the delegation.
At the woring session, Mr. Mai The
Trung expressed his happiness on the positive development of the
relations between Binh Duong and Daejeon during the last ten years. At
the same time he appreciated medical aid activities from Korea as well
as Korean businesses in doing charity. He believed the relations will
continue growing steadily.

On behalf of the delegation, Mayor
Kwon thanked provincial leaders for their warm welcome. He stated that
since the signing ceremony of the agreement on the development of the
friendly cooperation relations between Binh Duong Province and Daejeon
Metropolitan City on May 17, 2005, two localities has had many
activities on fields such as cultural exchange, education, science and
technology, ect. He requested provincial leaders to continue foster the
relations in the future.

After the visit to the Provincial
Party Committee, the delegation also had a working session with leaders
of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee. Mr. Tran Van Nam, Secretary
of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the PPC; Mr. Tran Thanh
Liem, Vice-Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice
Chairman of the PPC; Mr. Huynh Thanh Long, Member of the Provincial
Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and
leaders of provincial departments attended the working session.
At the working session, Daejeon
Mayor Kwon Sun Taik expressed his impression on the province’s growth in
recent years. He hoped two localities would cooperate on three main
fields such as: economics, education and healthcare. In the future, the
Government of Daejeon Metropolitan City would facilitate Daejeon’s
businesses to invest in Binh Duong as well as hold many more medical and
educational aid programs.
Chairman Tran Van Nam said that this
is an opportunity for leaders of two sides to discuss the cooperation.
Thanks to the medical workshop, the working session with Eastern
International University students and Binh Duong enterprises, two sides
will further discuss the projects on healthcare, education and
economics. He believed the relations between Binh Duong and Daejeon will
grow sustainably.
