In
2015, socio-economic fields of Binh Duong achieved important results.
Notably, total FDI of the province reached over 2.9 billion VND,
completing 294% target; material facilities serving industrialization
and urbanization have been increasingly improved.
Successes in industrialization and modernization
Nearly
20 years after the re-establishment, Binh Duong has put on a new
vitality. The establishment of 7 industrial parks (IP) in 1997 was an
impetus for provincial economy to shift to industry - trade and
services. Remarkably, Vietnam – Singapore IP is an example of joint
venture model to integrate into the global economy.
Nguyen
Huu Tu, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, commented, the
achievements of Binh Duong came from the enthusiasm, visionary
capability of leadership generations plus people’s consensus,
contributions to the overall success of industrialization and
modernization… Binh Duong province is always dynamic, of a venturesome
spirit. In recent years, provincial People’s Committee has carried out
good solutions to utilizing resources to invest in a synchronous and
modern infrastructure system. Local State budget has been efficiently
disbursed to build up series of public transport, hospitals, schools,
power grid, urban, residential areas...

Binh Duong province is confident and proactive for integration
Binh
Duong province has vigorously changed every day: modern transport,
urban areas, residential areas, commercial centers… have emerged and
attracted the attention of many businesses, workers, domestic and
foreign experts coming here to work and live. Obviously, the position
and role of Binh Duong is being elevated, especially when Binh Duong is
on the path on becoming type-1 urban city directly under the Central
before 2020.
Binh
Duong is welcoming New Year 2016 with many opportunities from free
trade agreements (FTAs), in which Vietnam is a partner, such as: the
ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)... As an
important transport hub to connect the southern key economic zone with
the Mekong Delta, and Central Highlands, in 2016, the role of Binh Duong
is expected to become prominent. In addition to advantages in
manufacture, trade – service sector will have the opportunity to change
the overall socio-economic face of the province.
Binh
Duong is preparing carefully for the integration through investing in
synchronously material facilities, modern and environmentally friendly
industrial parks. Furthermore, the educational, health care, cultural
system have been modernly built up and renovated in order to take good
care of physical and spiritual life of local people, and serve domestic,
foreign experts, tourists.
The
year 2016 is the opening year of the 2016-2020 period, which will be a
period of strong changes from Binh Duong to complete urban targets.
The
integration process of Binh Duong is evaluated to be the fastest and
superlative quality across the country. Apart from strategic partners,
like: Singapore, Japan, Korea, EU ... is increasingly consolidated, in
2015, partners from North America, South America… came to Binh Duong and
seek opportunities for trade cooperation. The establishment of US Trade
and Industry Office in Binh Duong has shown the attractiveness of the
province in mind of international friends. According
to statistics, in 1990, Song Be province’s GDP was 5.7 billion VND,
while this number in 1996 increased by 2,324 billion VND. In 1997 (Binh
Duong was reestablished on Jan 1st 1997), industrial
production value reached 4,000 billion VND, and then, by the end of
2015, this number reached nearly 220,000 billion VND… |
