Possibly speaking, the national target program on new-style rural area construction has changed people’s awareness and absorbed their participation. It has grown into a mass movement across the country, developing infrastructure in rural areas and improving material and spiritual conditions for rural residents. According to statistics, the average income per capita of rural residents reached VND24.4 mln per year, a 1.9% rise over that in 2010.

Binh Duong has so far had 32 communes meeting criteria of the national target program on new-style urban construction or 65% of the plan in the 2011-2020 period. In the next five years, the province will create a breakthrough in the program; effectively implement the Resolution of the 10th Party Central Committee’s 7th plenary session on agriculture, farmers and rural areas; strive to get 100% of communes meeting criteria of the program by 2020 under the Resolution of the 10th provincial Party Congress for the 2015-2020 tenure.
