At the working session, on behalf of provincial leaders, Chairman Liem expressed his sincere thanks to the medical aid team. He also informed the provincial socioeconomic development status in recent years. With 492 projects, Korea was ranked third in Binh Duong in terms of investment, with total capital of approximately US$1.9 billion. The provincial Chairman appreciated those projects that contribute to local economic development. In the past years, the provincial authorities invested on healthcare system but still not correspond to the province’s development. Deputy Mayor Kim Yeon Chang expressed his impression on rapid development of Binh Duong. At the same time he informed that Daegu Metropolitan City is one of the most developed cities in Korea in terms of industry, electronics and medicine. During this visit, the City's authorities sent doctors to provide treatment to local people in My Phuoc Hospital. After the visit, Daegu leaders will bring businesses to Binh Duong province to survey local investment opportunities. He hoped the provincial leaders would facilitate Korean businesses and hope for the friendly cooperation relations between two localities will be continued.
Between March 30 and April 1, at My Phuoc Hospital (Ben Cat town), Daegu Medical Aid team including 52 doctors and nurses and 30 volunteers treated and gave local people medicine, from oriental medicine, psychiatric, ophthalmology, pediatrics, etc. Especially ophthalmology, the team also gave glasses for people who have refractive error. After two days, the team treated for nearly 2000 people, including poor and underprivileged people, the old... The team is expected to serve approximately 2500 people. In this 8th program, the team chose Binh Duong province (Viet Nam) to provide medical care for people.
