In the first 6 months of 2014, Binh Duong leaders of all levels welcomed corporate groups, multinational companies and large foreign businesses who visited and learned about the provincial socioeconomic development status as well as researched the investment environment and cooperation opportunities in Binh Duong province.
In order to attract more FDI, the province held several trade promotion workshops in Japan, Italy and the Netherlands as well as allowed provincial entrepreneurs to use the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) to conduct trade, business and cooperation activities in APEC countries and territories. Besides, the provincial People’s Committee also organized two Investment Certificate Awarding Ceremonies for 65 businesses with total capital of more than US$ 900 million.

Following the direction on continuing renovation and improvement the people-to-people external relations, Binh Duong Party Committee directed departments and agencies to spread propaganda on people-to-people diplomacy; actively introduce the provincial socioeconomic development as well as the provincial potential and investment opportunities, heightening Binh Duong image to seek cooperation with foreign localities and partners. Binh Duong province has so far gain cooperation with Daejeon metropolitan (Korea); Champasak province (Laos); Emilia-Romagna region (Italy) etc.
At the working session, two parties also discussed topics such as: enhancing the guidance of the Party and the Government in external relations activities in specific and in people-to-people diplomacy in particular; boosting international integration activities, promoting foreign trade, FDI attraction and trade promotion activities, especially in countries such as the United States, Japan, Korea, Singapore and EU countries.

ABTC is the short form of APEC Business Travel Card, issued by appropriate authorities of countries and territories that joined the ABTC program. The card makes it easier for entrepreneurs to conduct cooperation, trade, investment activities and attend international conference as well as other economic purposes within countries and territories that joined ABTC program. The card holder enjoys visa-free policy when entering/leaving APEC country and territories.
