At the meeting, Chairman Le Thanh Cung a briefly informed to the Ambassador the socio-economic situation in nine months of 2012. According to the Binh Duong leader, “Binh Duong province is the first destination of investment, reaching US$ 2.4 billion in the nine months of 2012. The province assured the electricity supply for the business. Besides that, Binh Duong also pays attention to the social security, the care for labors” He hoped that the Singaporean ambassador will enhance the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore in all fields.
Speaking in the event, Ambassador Ng Teak Hean had a good impression on Binh Duong socio-economic development in the previous time and sent the sincerest thanks to the provincial authorities for their support to Singaporean investors in Binh Duong, especially the Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) development in Binh Duong province. The ambassador promised that he will enhance the relation between Singapore and Vietnam in general and between Singapore and Binh Duong in particular as well as promote the development of VSIP in Binh Duong province and in other cities and province in Vietnam.
VSIP is considered as one of industrial park models in Vietnam with the investment and experience sharing in the field of infrastructure construction and investment marketing by the famous corporation including Sembcorp Industries, Acendas, United Overseas Land, KMP Group, Mitsubishi Corporation and Becamex (Vietnam).
Up to now, 05 VSIP projects is deployed in Binh Duong province (VSIP I and VSIP II), Quang Ngai province, Hai Phong City and Bac Ninh province with the total area of more than 6.000 hectares for industry, urban and service.
