At the meeting, Binh Duong Smart City Office reported the results of Smart 21 title in 2023. According to the announced results, Binh Duong was once again officially recognized as Smart 21 by ICF along with cities of Canada, Brazil, Australia, etc.
ICF has conducted research and evaluated TOP 21 (Smart 21) of 2023 based on a set of 6 indicators: Connectivity - Broadband, Knowledge Workforce, Innovation, Digital Equality, Advocacy and Sustainability. In 2023, the ICF renewed the Smart 21 registration questionnaire, focusing on strategic directions on sustainable development and innovation, with deeper and broader applications of technology - digital, in the spirit of taking the community as the center, taking smart connection as the development motto.

Binh Duong will implement specific solutions with the goal of continuing to achieve the TOP 7 title and progress to the TOP 1 title of ICF this year. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to strengthen the proposal to develop and complete new projects for all 6 indicators, focusing on the Digital Equality, Advocacy and Sustainability with specific community service projects such as: Guiding the elderly to use public services; digital applications in supporting business women; promoting the use of renewable energy in the community; propaganda activities about smart cities, digital transformation in the community, etc.

The meeting also exchanged and commented on the draft Binh Duong Smart City development strategy for the 2022-2026 period. The future socio-economic development strategy of Binh Duong is implemented on the Triplex Helix model, towards a Smart Region based on three main factors: economic development, social progress and green growth.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Mai Hung Dung asked departments and branches to provide information and data for the Smart City Office to complete the application for ICF's TOP 7. At the same time, having orientations and proposals for specific project portfolios of each industry in line with ICF's indicators, especially social and community service projects. Actively providing information and articles on buiding Smart City to update on the Provincial Portal. The Smart City Office plans the Executive Board's activities in 2023; completes the Binh Duong Smart City development strategy for the 2022-2026 period and reports related difficulties and problems for timely handling.
