At the meeting, representatives of Becamex IDC Corporation reported on the implementation of traffic projects connecting Binh Duong province with other provinces and cities of the Southern key economic region, notably projects connecting to Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4, My Phuoc - Tan Van road, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang road.
Binh Duong is promoting the implementation of traffic infrastructure projects to meet the development requirements of the province and in line with the construction planning for Ho Chi Minh City region until 2030, with a vision to 2050 according to the Prime Minister's Decision no. 2076/QD-TTg dated December 22, 2017. In particular, the My Phuoc - Tan Van road has a total length of 64km from Tan Van junction to Bau Bang Industrial Park has opened to public traffic almost the entire route. The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway is expected to have a total length of about 70km connecting from Go Dua intersection (Ho Chi Minh City) to Chon Thanh district (Binh Phuoc province). The section passing Binh Duong province is about 57km, including 28km of overhead with about 10 overpasses planned to be constructed. The Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang road connecting with Dong Phu district (Binh Phuoc province) is being deployed the site clearance work by localities.
Becamex IDC Corporation reports on the implementation of connection traffic projects
Becamex IDC Corporation continues to work with JICA to agree to finance the project of extending Metro Line 1 from Suoi Tien to Binh Duong and Dong Nai, in order to promote the efficiency of Metro Line 1. Immediately, Binh Duong province will soon implement the project of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line connecting Binh Duong New City to Suoi Tien. Along with that, Binh Duong is also promoting ICD project - An Tay river port, railway project for inter-regional freight-transportation among Binh Phuoc - Binh Duong - Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

Also at the meeting, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Unit reported the progress of ongoing traffic projects. Specifically, Binh Duong - Tay Ninh Bridge has a length of 330m, scale of 6 lanes with a total investment capital of 370 billion VND, expected to be completed by the end of 2021. Bach Dang Bridge 2 connecting Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces with a length of 401m, scale of 4 lanes with a total investment capital of 410 billion VND, is currently being deployed bidding, expected to be constructed in the 3rd quarter of 2021, completed by the end of 2022. The approach road to Bach Dang 2 Bridge is 2,680m in length, scale of 4 lanes with a total investment capital of 143 billion VND, has been commenced since the 2nd quarter of 2020 and is expected for completion in the 2nd quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, the projects of Muoi Muon - Tan Thanh, Thu Bien - Dat Cuoc roads, improving the intersection of DT.642 and DT.747a, DT.746, DT.741b, DT.748, etc. are being speeded up the implementation progress.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha evaluated that regional connection traffic projects not only contribute to boosting the socio-economic situation of Binh Duong but also the Southern key economic region. He asked the Department of Transport, Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Unit to coordinate with Becamex IDC Corporation to continue working, agreeing with localities in the region and partners to speed up the projects' progress.
