The situation of Covid-19 pandemic in Binh Duong province at the end of July 2, 2020

Department of Health, up to 3:00 PM dated July 2, 2020, Binh Duong had no
positive cases for SARS-CoV-2.

On July 01, 2020, the investigation and verification were conducted for 01 Indonesian case suspected of having SARS-CoV-2 in Binh Duong province. The Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City took sample of this case and 141 cases in close contact. All test results showed that all of them were negative for SARS-CoV-2. After the negative test results, such cases were not requested for isolation by health sector, however, they were requested to monitor their health and report the situation to the local health authorities.

At present, Binh Duong has 567 cases sampled for testing (including 384 cases sampled for testing twice). All tested samples were negative for SARS-CoV-2.

Regarding information on the Indonesian case suspected of having SARS-CoV-2 in Binh Duong province, the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City said that the Institute had received information from the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control about 01 suspected case of SARS-CoV-2, who works in Binh Duong Province and took medical examination in Ho Chi Minh City. Immediately on July 1, 2020, the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City quickly assisted the locality with epidemiological investigation, verification and specific information as follows:

Indonesian citizen, male (name: AJI), year of birth: 1989. Mr. AJI entered Vietnam on March 11, 2020 through Tan Son Nhat International Airport and resided on the 2nd floor, Au Lac Hotel, My Phuoc Ward, Ben Cat town; he is a mechanic engineer at Factory No. 4, Kyungbang Company in Bau Bang Industrial Park, Lai Uyen town, which is located 20km from the hotel, and he works in the morning and comes back home at night with a daily private shuttle bus of the company.

During his residence in Vietnam from March 11 2020 up to now, Mr. AJI’s health is normal and he mainly lives and travels from hotel to workplace.

Through the survey of places, a total of 141 people had contact with Mr. AJI, including: people in workplace, hotel, restaurant, Family Medical Practice Clinic - District 2.

On the same day of July 1, 2020, the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh conducted the test and the results showed that Mr. AJI and all contacts were negative for SARS-CoV-2.
