Strictly managing entry people to control the Covid-19 pandemic

​PORTAL - On the morning of January 20, in Hanoi, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Long - Minister of Health presided over an online conference on Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control.

​​At the Binh Duong bridge point, there were leaders of the Department of Health, departments, committees and branches of the province.

Speaking at the conference, Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that up to now, Vietnam has basically controlled the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the pandemic situation in the world is still complicated, almost all countries have an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases, it is expected that the number of cases will reach 100 million in the next week. The Minister required that all cases, including experts and flight crews, be centrally quarantined for 14 days, without exceptions, without home quarantine, except cases decided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From now until the Lunar New Year, each flight must be reported to the Prime Minister, limiting to the maximum level of air transport to ensure safety in the pandemic prevention and control. Always proactively preparing for quarantine situations in the community, quickly detecting, localizing and stamping out the pandemic.

The Minister asked localities to focus on the key tasks: Strengthening strict management of entry people, including legal and illegal entry; preparing for a pandemic situation that continues to be complicated; preparing training for medical staff; planning and ensuring treatment facilities in the event of Covid-19 cases, etc.

According to the report of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, up to now, Vietnam has recorded 1,540 cases of Covid-19. Particularly, in the first 20 days of January 2021, Vietnam recorded 75 cases of entry. In Binh Duong province, until this moment, the Covid-19 prevention and control has been carried out synchronously and closely, with no cases detected in the community. According to the report of the Department of Health, as of January 19, 2021, the whole province had 28 Covid-19 positive cases, all of whom were entry people. The total number of cases still quarantined in the concentrated areas is 306 cases, completing concentrated quarantine for 5,613 cases, no longer quarantine cases at the residence.
