The conference was connected online to Vietnam representative agencies abroad, provinces and cities throughout the country.
At Binh Duong bridge point, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Danh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) and leaders of provincial departments, committees and branches.
The conference is an event following the Prime Minister's online meeting with the Counselors and Trade Attachés abroad held on August 19, 2022. These conferences and working sessions were carried out immediately after the Secretariat issued Directive No. 15-CT/TW dated August 10, 2022 on economic diplomacy for development to 2030. The conference focused on exchanging and evaluating opportunities and challenges in the current situation, especially opportunities that Vietnam needs to take advantage of and exploit in the fields of export, investment and tourism in order to maximize the all resources for socio-economic recovery and development; thereby proposing measures to promote economic diplomacy both at home and abroad.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that in the past nine months, the world situation has changed very rapidly, complicatedly, unpredictably, without precedent, having profound impacts on many aspects on the global economy and each country, including Vietnam. In that context, under the wise leadership of the Party, directly and often the Politburo, the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the accompaniment and supervision of the National Assembly, the involvement of the entire political system, the direction and administration of the Government, the consensus and support of the people and enterprises nationwide, the support of international friends and partners, the socio-economic situation of our country continued to be stable and prospered in most fields.
In the world's general trend of low growth, high inflation, up to this point, Vietnam has achieved high growth and controlled inflation, stable macroeconomy, secured major balances, of which the total import-export turnover by the end of August reached about 500 billion USD. People's lives are stable and improved, social security is concerned; social order and safety are guaranteed; defence and security is maintained.
External relations and international integration have been strengthened and promoted, in line with the world situation, Vietnam's views on international issues are shared and agreed by international friends and partners, and Vietnam's reputation in the international arena is raised. Many international organizations highly appreciate Vietnam's development situation and prospects.
Contributing to that common achievement of the country is the effort and determination in drastically implementing tasks of the Foreign Affairs Branch in general and of Vietnam representative agencies abroad in particular. Among them, the highlight is the very successful implementation of the vaccine diplomacy campaign with the important contribution of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.

However, the Prime Minister stated that, in the current context, absolutely must not be subjective, negligent or lose vigilance; identify the situation where difficulties, challenges, opportunities and advantages are intertwined, but difficulties and challenges are more than opportunities and advantages, to be prepared to respond to all developments and impacts of the situation. Vietnam is building an independent, self-reliant and active economy, proactively integrating into the world deeply, substantively and effectively; taking internal resources as basic, strategic, long-term, decisive, external resources as important and breakthrough.
In the context that Vietnam's major markets tend to shrink, Vietnamese representative agencies need to further promote their role with the spirit of "in danger lies opportunity" to contribute to overcoming difficulties in major markets, and at the same time to expand to other markets, contributing to promoting exports, attracting investment, diversifying supply chains, etc., in order to maximize all resources for national recovery and development.
The conference focused on discussing, assessing the situation, identifying opportunities and challenges, proposing specific and practical solutions and tasks to promptly promote economic diplomacy activities both at home and abroad, at all levels and in all branches, stating thoughts, aspirations, suggestions and recommendations to improve the efficiency of work in general and economic diplomacy in particular.
