Mr. Tran Van Nam - Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong province, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem – Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the provincial People's Council, co-chaired the conference. Mr. Roy Kho Ngee Seng, Consul General of Singapore, Mr. Roberto Cajati, Vice Consul General of Italy, representative of Consulate General of Thailand, Germany and Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh, leaders of departments, agencies, districts, towns and Thu Dau Mot City; representatives of foreign businesses associations European Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Business Association –Viet Nam, and about 100 FDI businesses in the province attended the program.
According to Department of Planning and Investment, in 9 months of 2019, Binh Duong province attracted over 2.42 billion US dollars from 34 countries and territories, a rise of 81% against last period. Accumulate, Binh Duong is the second largest destination of FDI attraction of Viet Nam (after Ho Chi Minh City) with 3,670 from 64 countries and territories, total registered capital of over 34.7 billion US dollars.
From 2016, Binh Duong province has decided to renovate the development, investment model, creating the new momentum to the Binh Duong smart city project. Binh Duong has achieved considerable results in launching the Binh Duong brand name to the world including to be an official member of the World Technopolis Association (WTA) and Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). The province also organized successfully two international events including series of Binh Duong WTA 2018 events and Horasis Asia Meeting – Binh Duong 2018. Especially, Binh Duong is the first locality of Viet Nam which is recognized as one of 21 regions having the world 2019 typical smart city strategy.
At the dialogue, foreign investors and association frankly explained their aspiration as well as difficulties, challenges during business operation in Binh Duong province. The main topics were related to import- export, human resources, infrastructure, especially trans-regional transport infrastructures, etc. The provincial authorities directly answer the questions of companies aiming to create the most favorable condition for investors.
Speaking at the dialogue, Mr. Tran Van Nam, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Mr. Tran Thanh Liem – Chairman of People's Committee affirmed that Binh Duong will stand by businesses, try to resolve the difficulties faced by companies and focus in improving the investment environment, the competitiveness to support businesses community, especially improving the infrastructure, the quality of labour, building social houses, implementing the administrative procedures reforms, facilitating enterprises. Binh Duong authorities will stand by businesses for the sustainable of both companies and the province.
