This was the 5th Award Ceremony attracting the presence of Dang Minh Hung, vice chairman of provincial People's Committee; Jeong Woo Jin, Deputy General Consul of South Korea in HCMC; Park Jin Ku, President of KOCHAM Binh Duong; leaders of provincial departments, sponsors and 244 student beneficiaries.

Accordingly, 244 packs of scholarships valued at VND 660 million were given to needy but excellent students including 86 ones each worth VND 4 million for high school students, 158 ones each worth VND 2 million for junior high school students. This scholarship awarding program is the yearly event to assist needy but excellent students.

On this occasion, sponsors also contributed and offered 7 houses totally valued at VND 560 million to needy households in Binh Duong.
Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, vice chairman of provincial People's Committee Tran Thanh Liem affirmed that South Korean Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, KOCHAM Binh Duong and Binh Duong – based South Korean investors have always shown their spirit of responsibility, accompanying with local authorities to well implement social welfare and security. The vice chairman expected that students who received the scholarships would strive to overcome difficulties, gain best achievements in their study to become good citizens, and joined hands to build Binh Duong a prosperous locality. He also hoped the community of South Korean investors would continue their assistance to the needy people.

For the last 9 years, KOCHAM Binh Duong and Binh Duong – based South Korean investors have contributed over VND 5 billion to social activities such as offering scholarships, building houses and presenting Tet gifts to social beneficiaries. The program "KOCHAM Scholarship – Raising up your dreams" accounts for nearly VND 2.5 billion.
