108 officers and students of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy came to Binh Duong to support epidemic prevention

​On July 16, 2021, a delegation of 108 officers, medical staff and volunteer students of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy came to Binh Duong to support epidemic prevention and control.

The Head of the delegation to support Binh Duong this time is Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Manh - Vice Rector of the University - one of more than 100 experts of the Ministry of Health providing scientific advice to Ho Chi Minh City on prevention and control of the epidemic. With this active participation and contribution, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy has shown its responsibility on the front line of epidemic prevention.

Accordingly, the mission will collect samples for testing and treatment of Covid-19 patients. Expected support time is 45 days.

Previously, the Ministry of Health provided aid to Binh Duong with 350 officials, lecturers and students of Hanoi Medical University to support Binh Duong in epidemic prevention and control. Thus, up to this point, the Ministry of Health has provided Binh Duong with 458 volunteers to serve the province's anti-epidemic work.

As of July 16, 2021, Binh Duong has recorded 2,175 cases of Covid-19 in the community. In order to promptly localize the epidemic, tracing and taking samples for testing requires rapid deployment and requires a lot of manpower. Therefore, the timely support of the Ministry of Health will make a great contribution to Binh Duong's epidemic prevention and control.

Currently, Binh Duong is taking samples for testing for 1 million people living in areas with high risk of Covid-19 outbreak in the community such as motel workers, people living around inns, traders in markets or shops around inns, bus station areas with a high frequency of daily gatherings etc. Average number of people sampled in 1 day/1 table: 350 - 400 people.
