350 staffs and students of Hanoi Medical University support Binh Duong in fighting the epidemic

​PORTAL - Facing the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in Binh Duong, on July 6, 350 experienced staffs and students of Hanoi Medical University came to Binh Duong to support the fight against the epidemic.

​​350 staffs and students will come to support at the Center for Disease Control of Binh Duong Province and the local Health centers: Thuan An City, Di An City, Thu Dau Mot City, Ben Cat Town and Tan Uyen Town. The mission of the delegation is to conduct epidemiological investigation, tracing, sampling for more than 01 million people and participating in the treatment of patients in Binh Duong. The delegation will work under the direction of Binh Duong Health Department. It is expected that the support period will last 45 days.

Prof. Dr. Ta Thanh Van - Chairman of the Council of Hanoi Medical University said, 350 staff and students, including 11 lecturers specializing in emergency resuscitation, internal medicine, pediatrics, medical technology, and nursing; 339 final-year students belong to the system of medical doctors, bachelor of nursing, public health, and traditional medicine. In particular, among these, there are 30 preventive medicine students who participated in the fight against the epidemic in Bac Ninh, who have just finished isolation, and also volunteered to join.

"These officers and students have been vaccinated with 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine and all tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 before leaving. The school also organized training on tracing, sampling, testing and nursing care of Covid-19 patients for staff and students. Unlike previous support times, this time the support team has 50 final-year nursing students who will directly take care of patients in medical facilities," said Mr. Ta Thanh Van.

In order for the support to be effective, before the delegation left, Hanoi Medical University worked with the Department of Health, the Center for Disease Control of Binh Duong Province, based on the plan to organize large-scale sampling and testing of Binh Duong province to know the needs of the locality, from there, make a detailed plan with the right people in each position according to local requirements.

The delegation was picked up by Binh Duong province from Tan Son Nhat airport by bus system of Becamex Tokyu and arranged accommodation and meals at Becamex Hotel.

From the 4th outbreak to July 5, 2021, Binh Duong recorded 766 cases of Covid-19 in the community. The disease has appeared in 40 companies, factories and dozens of worker dormitories.

Facing the complicated situation, Binh Duong requested the Ministry of Health to send experts on epidemiological investigation, tracing and handling of the epidemic; support the force of medical staff to take samples for testing, doctors and nurses treating Covid-19 patients. At the same time, support facilities for testing, tracing and preventing etc.
