PORTAL - On the morning of May 28, at the Administrative Center of Binh Duong province, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety (TS) Committee chaired a meeting to listen to reports on solutions to limit traffic congestion (TC) and ensure TS in the province.
Attending were Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee and leadership representatives of a number of departments, committees, branches, unions, districts, towns and cities.
The meeting approved the report on TS and order in the first 5 months of 2021. From December 14, 2020 to May 14, 2021, the whole province had 417 traffic accidents (TA), killing 110 people, injuring 397 people, and damaging 690 vehicles. Compared to the same period in 2020, TA decreased by all three criteria: The number of cases decreased by 15%, the number of deaths decreased by 12.7%, the number of injured people decreased by 24.38%. Through patrol and control, functional forces found 38,590 violations; sanctioned 37,252 cases.
In order to reduce TC as well as ensure TS, the TS Committee and the Department of Transport have proposed to the Provincial People's Committee many urgent solutions, while continuing to invest in the development of traffic infrastructure and key, long-term projects. In which, studying the plan to build overpasses at some traffic "hot" spots; traffic flow by hour, by route; renovating a number of intersections on National Highway 13, renovating and completing the infrastructure of My Phuoc - Tan Van road; adjusting the road divider DT.743, etc.
In particular, piloting the restriction of vehicles, banning traffic according to the daily time frames from 6:00 to 8:00; from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00 at some roads of National Highway 13, DT.743, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Huynh Van Cu, DT.747, My Phuoc - Tan Van, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Thao suggested that functional forces should further strengthen patrolling, control and handling of violations in the field of road TS and order; especially in the management of urban order and construction, not let the construction status or materials and equipment encroach on the road safety corridor. Continuing to propagate and educate to raise people's awareness and responsibility in obeying the regulations when participating in traffic; speeding up traffic flow by hour and by route; focusing on ensuring safety when constructing traffic infrastructure upgrading and expansion works.
