Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Le Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of IC said that the Department has directed and guided the press agencies, the system of grassroots Radio Station to focus on informing and propagating the results of socio-economic development, events and activities of the province and the whole country; Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control. Directing and supporting telecommunications enterprises to invest in infrastructure, ensuring service provision for all users' needs. Information technology technical infrastructure is invested in upgrading, fully equipped with security equipment and synchronously and uniformly configured according to the general plan, meeting information security, ensuring technical conditions for cadres to operate as well as serve shared applications deployed by the province. The Inspectorate of the Department has inspected, detected and sanctioned social networking accounts of Facebook and Tiktok for posting false information about the Covid-19 pandemic situation, propagating superstitions.
Two centers under the Department have well completed their assigned functions and tasks; consulted many projects and activities of IT application in the province, supported the election of deputies to the National Assembly and Provincial People's Council; managed and operated the service e-mail box, the specialized data transmission network and the provincial E-portal to operate stably.
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Long - Acting Director of the Department of ST, in the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the province's ST activities have achieved some outstanding results. Specifically, the Department advised the Provincial People's Committee to order a national project under the program for rural and mountainous areas of the Ministry of ST on the production of organic fertilizer from animal waste; promoted the dissemination and orientation of scientific research and technology development in 2021, appraised 05 urgent topics in the fields of national defense - security, transportation, logistics and agriculture; granted certificates of technology transfer to 03 enterprises; organized the Provincial Council to review and award the Ho Chi Minh Prize in ST to 01 company in Binh Duong; supported 01 ST organization to establish a branch in Di An city; supported 150 turns of students and 08 groups of activities to develop startup projects, etc.

In particular, the implementation of the Project on building Binh Duong Smart City has achieved many positive results. Binh Duong has been honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) for the 3rd time in a row as one of 21 regions and cities with typical smart city development strategies in the world (Smart21). This result has the positive contribution of the Department of ST and the Department of IC. In the coming time, the Department of ST will coordinate with functional branches to draft the Binh Duong Smart City Project in the period of 2021-2025.
