To keep bettering public diplomacy
​BEGIC - Morning Aug 19, Binh Duong Province Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting to review 5 implementation years of Directive 04-CT/TW of the Secretariat and Action Program 28-CTr/TW of Provincial Party Committee on “To continue to innovate and improve the efficiency of public diplomacy in the new situation” at TDM City People’s Committee.

Attending were Mr. Ly Ngoc Minh, member of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee’s Presidium; Mr. Vo Van Thien, Head of southern Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Mr. Pham Van Canh, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Mr. Dang Minh Hung - Deputy Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Mass Mobilization; and representatives of agencies, sectors in the province.

After 5 implementation years, the role and responsibilities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations, all sectors, levels towards people’s diplomacy works were improved. Through people’s diplomacy activities, a substantial resource of material and intellect from international partners was mobilized for social security works and contributed to provincial socio-economic development.

Propaganda works were carried out diversely; the development of relationships with foreign organizations and individuals were interested. In the period 2011-2015, Binh Duong Province signed 6 new friendship cooperation agreements with foreign provinces, cities. Up to now, Binh Duong province has signed friendship and cooperation agreements with 9 foreign localities. NGO mobilization works were also interested. By the end of 2015, the total amount of NGO aids was $2.3 million and over VND4.7 billion, many valuable equipment...

In the future, Binh Duong will continue enhancing propaganda on public diplomacy; actively widening relations with people of other countries and international organizations; combining the development of friendly relations with cooperation in economics, culture, education, science and technology, environmental protection; actively encouraging oversea Vietnamese to build up the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Canh, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; asked provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to keep promoting the role of member organizations in public diplomacy works; combine closely the Party’s external activities, State's diplomacy, and people’s diplomacy; perfect the apparatus of diplomatic cadres. 

On this occasion, 18 collectives and 13 individuals received PPC’s merit certificates. Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Duong province also gave merit certificates to 8 collectives and 9 individuals who have made outstanding achievements in public diplomacy works.
